Wouldn't it be cool if the Winter Soldier made an appearance? With a prototype arm and a more classic look to him. Maybe he could spark the conflict by assassinating a political figure and disappearing back into the shadows.

It would be brilliant.

The thing is though they would have to be careful to make sure ws is unrecognisable to agent carter

Well, they could give him some sort of mask. Maybe not the one from the Winter Soldier because thats very modern, maybe some sort of military gas mask or something. I don't think the domino mask would really work.

First they need to officially organize S.H.I.E.L.D., then S.H.I.E.L.D. needs to recruit Arnim Zola, then Zola needs to resurrect HYDRA, then HYDRA needs to find some corrupt Soviet official who would give them access to Bucky, then Zola needs to transform Bucky into the Winter Soldier...etc. That's just too many events for a series of only eight episodes.

Well, its going to get multiple seasons if it does well, so I'm thinking somewhere down the lines.

Yeah, I don't think this season is the right time, but I do hope he appears.

The use of Operation Paperclip as a reference is a useful jumping off point. Both the west and the Soviets jumped at recruiting German scientists. In the Marvel universe, that involved former HYDRA scientists who still secretly worked together to play the west against the Soviets. The Winter Soldier would be a perfect agent to ferment chaos between the two sides (it would also help explain the red star on his shoulder).

I don't think the first season is the best point for it, but the show could definitely use some Cold War paranoia.

If Bucky were standing before her in 1947, she would not believe her eyes. Peggy did not interact that much with him. Also , speculation that the WS is a ghost. So builds the legend.

If Winter Soldier was wearing his face mask, it's unlikely that anyone would recognize him as Bucky. Especially if he is only glimpsed from afar after using a sniper rifle.

The mask is modern but so is the arm. Would it be a steampunk version off the bat or just make it anachronistic

It would be great to see the moment Howard gets assassinated but I suppose that would undo the slattery version

This movie was a success financially, maybe good, but no it's not great. The entire first half hour is Steve and falcon punch and Natasha cracking lame jokes and struggling to utter any dialogue that isn't cringe-worthy. Fury's bossman schpiel is overused.

Steve's shield defies physics and common sense. And that car chase scene put me to sleep. Marvel has given you fanboys very low standards... :/

Haha, be nice!

I loved the winter soldier. It's the only marvel film I've seen twice at the cinemas

Is it actually stated he gets assassinated. I thought him and Maria die in a car accident.

Was it an accident or was it an "accident"?

It was a murder. It just depends on whether the John slattery version will be the one getting killed or the Dominic cooper one.

You're right though that howard and Maria died in a car accident in the comics

Slattery will reprise his role in Ant-Man, so I'm guessing they're keeping him as well as Cooper.

By definition, it would have to be Slattery, right? Considering we saw him alive as an older man as Slattery?

Yeah but I'm not sure if they're as bothered with that portrayed anymore. I'm hope they get him back because imo he was really good in it

Slattery will be playing Howard Stark in Ant-Man. So Marvel's clearly defining Slattery as Howard Stark in the modern-ish era (around 1970 onward) and Cooper as Howard Stark in the 1940's and possibly 1950's.

As stated by Agent Rommanoff in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Winter Soldier is credited with "over two dozen assassinations in the last fifty years". Since Captain America: The Winter Soldier is set in 2014, that means the Winter Soldier wasn't active before 1964.

Well, he's also a SECRET weapon. I think there is subtext to it that if that's what we know, what don't we? Like there's no way that number isn't bigger.

Well, not if taken literally. It just means, in the last 50 years, that's how many he had. It doesn't say if he had any before that. It also only talks about the ones he's credited with, not the ones that no one catches. But, really, "last 50 years" is just a convenient expression, not intended to mean that the timeframe is literally 50 years.

Trust me, if they could make a Cold War Hank Pym TV series, I would prefer that even more, but we have to work with what we have.

Half the weapons in The First Avenger look modern, I don't recall too many laser guns about during WW2
