The Wolverine/Logan Thread

MCU 616 Wolverine must be more bestial and a great martial arts practitioner like his comic version
And if possible a little shorter to avoid a redit with Jackman

Since Hugh Jackman is coming back as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine...he most likely won't be the Wolverine for the MCU long term so in that case:

My list for actors who could replace Jackman going forward:

- Taron Egerton
- Milo Gibson, Mel Gibson's son
- Scott Eastwood, Clint Eastwood's son
- Daniel Radcliffe

I wonder what they'll do to differentiate the 616 Wolverine from the Foxverse Wolverine. I think it's safe to assume there will be at least as much difference as there is between Tobey's Spider-man and Tom's Spider-man.

Yeah because of the whole Multiverse, we get more than one Wolverine it makes sense

Eion Bailey or Ben McKenzie might make a good Wolverine.

I don't know whether I would buy Daniel Radcliffe as Wolverine just because he is so well known as Harry Potter. He faces the same problem as Robert Pattinson did, the franchise that brought him worldwide fame is also the thing that can put people off.

Daniel Radcliffe as Wolverine would really look like cosplay... he doesn't look the part at all.

The movie made that abundantly clear.

Also, I fell in love with this Wolverine, and I like him way more than the Fox version. I can't wait to see him again.

Looks like Feige and the gang are running out the clock on recasting for now. Still, it sure was sick seeing Hugh back and all suited up.

In my opinion they should just have Laura be the MCU wolverine. It would be a nice way to distinguish it from Hugh Jackman‘s run and would provide the X-Men with even more diversity.

Yeah just no to legacy characters. There are other female characters who have yet to truly shine in the movies. Psylocke, Polaris, Marrow, Sage, Rogue, Storm, Jubilee, Dazzler...

It occurred to me as I think about the fan casting years ago of Scott Caan in the role, that had they put Wolverine on film in the 1970’s, James Caan would have been perfection. He looks the part, had the attitude, and he was one of the all time great actors to ever grace the screen.

Now that’s an interesting conversation starter. What is the best legacy character in comics?

For my money, I go with Wally West. He is one of the only legacy characters that took over the mantle and actually proved to be superior to the person he replaced. Wally is faster than Barry; he’s a more interesting character than Barry; and he’s inherently a better person than Barry. There is a reason why he has spent as much or more time as the Flash than Barry Allen. The only reason why Barry has gotten treatment on film is because he is the one with the stand alone origin. But even on the show, the creators have stated that in the early seasons (when Barry was actually likable and the show was good) they took the characterization more from Wally than Barry.

Dick Grayson is another, but I don’t consider him a legacy character, even though Dick has spent considerable time as Batman. In the end, he comes in on his own as Nightwing and is a standalone character and not “Batman-lite”.

Stargirl is another example of a great legacy character, especially when Geoff Johns is writing her.

X-Men Origins Wolverine is not a good movie but I can see how it could have been great. Had it not been made during the ‘07 writers strike it probably would’ve been a much better movie. Not to mention, Hugh Jackman carries the **** out of Origins. Finally, without Origins, we wouldn’t have The Wolverine and Especially Logan.

If Jackman returns even after SW, there is no reason for not having our main Wolverine
He can come back as cameo as WorstWolverine but let MCUWolverine be the main version

I kind of see the vision (Matt Wood from Saturday Night)

He was the lead character in a movie that made over a billion dollars. So I doubt they will reduce him to a cameo.

Hmm I doubt the strike made an impact to the quality of that script.

I do think the production values of that weren't good. In comparison to First Class, the film looked a bit cheap.
