The Wolverine The Wolverine

This definitely proves they're going a different direction with this and know the issues of the first one and responding to what fans want.

I like it. It's different from the usual 10 word Fox titles.

I like it. They probably should have gone that route for the first movie.

Makes sense. Wasn't that basically how Wolverine was introduced in the first X-Men movie? The Wolverine!

I like the fact it's a "one off". Which is what I felt these Wolverine films should've been. Not being dependent on continuity.

I would have liked them be dependent on continuity before continuity got so messed up. Now I'm very happy to see some one off films.

As for the title, I'm glad they went with it.

Should have been The Wolverine Rises

Well, its based on a story that's a one off in the comics. I assumed we already knew this film needn't be dependent on continuity.

I don't like it but its only a title so its not very important.

The title is fine, the description of the plot sounds rather: zzzzzz :sleepy:

It maybe a "one off" but that doesn't mean that it won't be in continuity. More than likely, the story won't even cross roads with the established continuity in terms of plot and character interactions.

My vision of the whole thing goes a little like this: Singer's two X-Men films establishes Wolverine's origins via the flashbacks. And this is the "prequel" film that has nothing to do with the X-Men films. I would call it the official "prequel" to the character. We find out about his past in the Singer films....

Either way, "The Wolverine" is a fantastic title.

This is fantastic. Let Darren Aronosfky tell his own story and let him do his own thing with the character. Also, the title is fantastic- The Wolverine is far better than any of the other titles we've seen for comic-book movies recently. Pure and simple.

Finally! A nice, simple title that's effective. I like it.

Cool title. Also, considering it's a one-off, is Jackman reprising his role???

Of course. Jackman and Aronosfky worked together for The Fountain, and it was their collaboration that helped solidify Aronosfky getting the director's chair for The Wolverine.

I really like the simplicity of the title and I think the talent involved will make sure this is a great film.

They should do a one-shot Apocalypse story too O.O

That's the first thing I thought - that's how he was introduced in the first movie in the boxing ring - the announcer called him "The Wolverine" so I just assumed the title of this movie leads up to how he is called that in the boxing ring.

Well, they want forget the existence of the last movie of all the X-Films continuity, and its is great.Wish luck for Darren and Jackman.

Being oblivious to the actual comics, I just assume XMO:W is the first movie introducing everyone to the character. At the end of that after the credits is the bit with him at a bar in Japan. Then I just assume he goes to Japan, hence the new movie. And then in the first XMen, he's in the boxing ring and the announcer introduces him as "The Wolverine" - that's my timeline of the movies anyway.

Meanwhile, a very funny stunt video included in this story about the title, including Hugh's trainer Michael Ryan giving some tips to the host and having him perform some of them, and showing how some of the stunts were done in the movies.

I just hope it's a proper Wolverine story and not with so many cameos.
