The Wonder Woman Weaponry Thread

From the snippet in the trailer, it seems like we do have a new "weapon" of sorts - the "blast" that Wonder Woman produces when she bangs/slaps her gauntlets together.

It has appeared in the comics before, but I don't think it has even been part of her regular, frequently used power/weapon set.

I've been hearing about this, but I don't recall ever seeing that power in comics. Do you happen to know any particular comic that depicts this?

It was used only twice. Perez created it and used in his original run, and then again he used it much later, in a story that has Power Girl (and it's not the WW book)

Basically Zeus, Poseidon and Hades needed Diana's help to deflect something, then Zeus told her about this power of the bracelets, that exists because they were made of the Aegis.

When she places the bracelets together above her head, it would create an indestructible shield. But it wasn't nearly as big as it happens in the trailer (apparently just 2 times her size), and it was just a shield, not the blast that seems to happen in the trailer (unless the blast is caused by the one she is fighting, and the shield just blocked the attack and the blast happened)

I remembered that she had some power related to the Aegis, but I couldn't remember it was this shield thing.

But like I said, it was used only once in her book. I don't know exactly which issue it is. This is the other occasion in another book:

And I am more inclined to believe that her clashing the bracelets in the trailer didn't cause the blast, but simply created a shield bubble to protect her from whatever did.

Whichever the case, it is quite interesting that they remembered this rather lost and obscure little power and decided to include it. I assume that Snyder and co. really did their homework when it comes to research.

I also don't think that the big "blast" in the trailer is caused by Wonder Woman clashing her gauntlets, but it appears that the clashing of gauntlets does "something" before the trailer cuts to the big "blast".

What that "something" is, its range and whether it is defensive or offensive is still unclear.

I don't think that the "energy bubble/blast" is caused by WW either. The trailer I feel is edited in a way (as trailers often are) to keep things opaque plot wise.

I think it is. If you watch frame by frame, you can see she's not deflecting anything and that the blast is coming from her bracelets, and the ground starts to crumble. Maybe it's not the same blast, but there's definitely a blast coming from her bracelets, and it sure looks like the same.

She has done that other times. It's not a special power, just a powerful ring. Which would actually be really effective against Superman.

I might be wrong but wasn't there something about her carrying a spear too?

So far we only see her shield, bracelets, sword and lasso while in battle

I think she also used her bracelets the same way during Rucka's run to stop a tsunami from hitting Themyscira.

Maybe, I only remember her using the Invisible Jet technology (that could take any form) in that story.

Maybe her usual lariat could be enhanced with some parts. She could use it like a meteor hammer.
