Do you think it could be a good remake with the technology today and maybe with a better story? The plot was cool but the story could have been better. What do you think?

It must be owned,i wouldn't mind a remake b/c Sheen,hair and 80's music shall hurt it but the remake will be fast and the furious with a Ghost car so i am ****ed

Imagine an R rated Guilermo Del Toro version...still I'll get my copy this week along with Razorback which i hope you have seen

I rented this movie a few times back in the 80's it was a very cool movie plus it had Clint Howard in it. I would much rather see a sequel than a remake.

Sci-fi plays it now and then. Silly movie and if Sheen was a ghost how come at the end of the movie he seems pretty much alive? He went off with the girl

This is the best comic book movie ever made that's not based on a comic. Some of you should get off the high horse and enjoy it. Cool car, cool hero, cool story. What more could you ask 4?

It was just a thought I had since all these remakes are being done, some movies should be remade. If they are remaking Scanners and Escape From New York why not this? This movie was of those films that did poorly yet had a cult following.

Here is the cast i think should play them and the new Incterceptor should have the same style but the exterior skin should be based off the look of scales with energy flowing through it slightly giving off a wraith look. The same Arizona small town should be used and parts of Yuma and the state line in the story. I only know some of the cast who should be casted so far.

Jake Kessey- Tom Welling
Sheriff Loomis- Michael Fassbender
Packard Walsh- (Not sure)
Keri Johnson- Megan Fox
Billy Hankins- (Not sure)

Other cast involved should have a great prescence on screen, great quality to themselves and most unknowns but cameos by Sheen, Quaid and anyone of the main cast that will return. The only thing that cannot be done in this is to make a movie just to make money. These characters need to be redone in todays standards, likeable and loving characters and with passion put in this movie not just to make a buck that is what is missing today its only about CGI not about characterization.

I remember this movie! It definitely deserves a remake!Its a cool concept! It lacks a few things but with the right director and cast it could be great! The Car is already pretty awesome! They could do a lot with the special effects and the Sci Fi features in this movie. Also Maybe add a little bit more of a gore/suspense/thriller aspect to it! Make his face sick looking under his helmet haha. Fix the parts of the movie that don't make sense like him being a ghost but being able to be with a girl? I say throw out the love part all together. Make the gang of racers that killed him look more sadistic and crazy, kind of like the gang from Death Sentence with Kevin Bacon. Also they could show what happened after he died instead of just making him reappear as a bad ass killer car driver with no explanation. Also make the cast actually look like they are young!

Garrett Hedlund from Tron Legacy, Andrew Garfield from The Amazing Spiderman or Shia Labeouf would make a suitable killer young looking killer! They are all great and upcoming young actors.

I remember when this movie came out on VHS. I liked it but I have not seen it since like the 80's. A remake wouldn't hurt a thing though.

I'm watching it right now. It couldn't scream 80's movie any more if... well I can't think of anything more 80's than this movie. Literally everything in it is the definition of the 80's. Story, actors, soundtrack, the town, cars, characters, clothes, the hair above all else. It's a microcosm of the decade.

So far at an hour in it's still enjoyable though you definitely have to enjoy 80's movie nolstalgia to really appreciate it.
