The Wrestling Thread has much larger nipples

Cora Jade has been released as well.

Bad knee injury that kept her out and hampered her progress.

She used to date Bron Breaker and apparently that relationship ended badly, and now he's getting a massive push on the main roster.

Maybe some backstage issues that we don't know about yet?

I knew she dated Bron but I didn't know it ended badly, and his new girl Izzy Dame is starting to get pushed in NXT, but to balance that out she's close to Punk, so if anyone had sway with Triple H to save her you'd think he would.

I'm thinking the knee injury is the biggest factor, I don't know how good she was before it but since her return she's been OK, however that's not enough at the level the women's division in NXT is currently operating at. It is a bit of an odd one as they never followed through on her split with Roxy and then moved Roxy onto teaming with Giulia.

Gigi Dolan just released too, why did they give her and Paxley the match with Liv & Raquel.

So has Eddy Thorpe, which means nothing of value was lost with that one.

As soon as I saw that one I knew you'd be happy! I wonder if these cuts are being made over HBK's head, as he was using some of these talents. Riley Osbourne is also gone, I think I'm right in saying he was one of the Chase U guys.

I had a feeling this one was coming, Jakara Jackson has been released. They abruptly split her and Lash up on Tuesday's episode, so when these releases started tonight I figured she'd be one.

Is Riley gone or is he still under contract because he's injured? Last I heard he was injured.

As for Eddy.....when he was in New Japan as Karl Fredericks, I liked him. NXT made him a music DJ and then a whiny heel. If they had leaned into his Native American heritage more, then I would have cared.

Sean Ross Sapp says Osborne is released.

Releasing Braun Strowman makes absolutely no sense. He's their best big man since Paul Wight, made Bronson Reed and Jacob Fatu look amazing. He was also on TV regularly up until WrestleMania.

Edit. I see Cora's release has been discussed already.

I was enjoying Knight vs Priest

Here's a question, who is your least favorite WWF/WWE wrestler ever that made it far up the card but you just couldn't see why people liked them?

Matt Riddle. A complete and utter scumbag, self-destructive, and has washed out of every major career he's had.

That's a great question, because theres plenty who've gotten to the top that i wasn't a fan of, but I could see why others might like them. 🤔 I'd probably have to go with Sheamus, to me a good hand but never a guy that I saw as a WWE/World Champion. You could add Del Rio to that list but I could see why the gimmick and his look was worth a shot, Vince just refused to accept it wasn’t working for too long.

So has Gallus. When watching Evolve, Gallus looked like they didn't want to be there.

I haven't watched Evolve but they didn't stand out in NXT, apparently Oro Mensah was doing well in Evolve and he's been released as well.

Some decent matches on Smackdown, but that return to a 2 hour format in June will be very welcome.

It looked like Elton got knocked loopy in Pretty Deadly's match with Fraxiom, he clearly was unable to kick out of a pin and you could see everyone in the ring scrambling to rework the finish.

I saw some raving about Fenix vs Santos, I thought it was OK, but I found myself completely disinterested as it was such a forgone conclusion that Santos would lose, unlike in Miz's match where you knew he'd lose but he has the stuff with Melo to move forward with, there's nothing but an endless void of jobbing for Santos, and I don't get it, he's good in the ring, has a great look and can talk, yet they don't do anything with him.

Zelina getting a win over Piper was a simple bit of progression, they should have showed that video of her going to the 9/11 memorial though. It was a solid David vs Goliath match but I'd like to see Zelina wrestle some challengers closer to her size. As expected Chelsea turned a loss into a win, her in full mourning attire over her loss of the US title is a brilliant direction, the woman is pure gold! :D

I've seen the other 30+ Orton vs Cena matches from their prime, and they weren’t that good even back then, so their match at Backlash just holds no interest for me, but Randy cut a strong promo here.

I enjoyed Aleister Black vs the Miz, it was a good match that was a great introduction to those, like me, only vaguely familiar with Black, his cat-like agility mixed with the crisp striking and ring presence were impressive, and Miz as always provided the perfect heel foil. They teased Black vs Melo at the end, and I'd be down for a series of matches between them.

The tag team main event was OK, having two fairly green babyfaces meant a bit of clunkiness, but it's good to see multiple challengers forming for Tiffany, and Jade needed the win here, but it's Naomi that's standing out with her new heel persona. I'm guessing Nia wins the #1 contenders match with Jade next week and faces Tiffany at SNME.

The opener between Knight and Priest was good, kinda reminded me of a mid 90's Raw match. Of course the finish has led to the predicted Fatal 4-Way, and I liked how Solo's Drew point to Aldis got it "inadvertently " changed from a triple threat to increase the chances of Jacob losing the title, just another seed planted between him and Fatu. This match should be a good one!

I think I gotta agree. But as a character on screen, I was never a fan of the stoner surfer bro. Coming to the ring on a scooter, and cartoon birds around him.

Was happy with Aleister Black’s reintroduction… Again, glad to see he got his entrance and music back, it started him off on a good foot… It was a good showcase of most of his signature stuff… The counter to Miz’ finisher was a solid move, something that hasn’t been done… His striking is still great, looks believable.. Miz sold it all perfectly… Hit Black Mass clean this time and again, glad that so far they are hyping it up as a knockout blow… The crowd reaction was there for him, albeit alittle timid… Looks like he’ll be having a match with Carmelo Hayes, which makes me a bit nervous because a lot of fans are already complaining Hayes isn’t getting a big enough push and if Black goes over the fans might turn against him… This match just reconfirmed for me that Black is one of my guys, want to see him do well..

The other stand out for me from last night was Jade, I’ve seen her maybe 10 times in AEW and I think all of her appearances in WWE and I thought that was her best night as a pro… Her promo was much smoother than normal, I thought she did great there and the same with in the ring, she looked more comfortable and less lost than in previous matches to me… Had a couple impressive moves and took the win… Not sure if that’s a trend or she just had a good night but I thought that was the best I’ve seen her..

A lot of people online are down on Andrade’s booking and lack of matches, which is understandable but at least he has a storyline that seems to mostly make sense and is leading somewhere… Heading towards a match with Escobar, looks like at the very least Humberto will end up siding with Andrade… He still isn’t great on the mic but I felt his promo was solid tonight too… I wouldn’t count Andrade as a fumble yet, I think he’ll end up with a push at some point…

There’s been a bunch over the years but right now it’s definitely Dom Mysterio… He’s just really not any good, I don’t get it…

Andrade is phenomenal in the ring. But, he is the prime example of someone who needs a manager or valet. Zelina was perfect for him when they were together. But he needs something. Ge should join Escobar imo and let Santos do the talking.

They've one more match to add to the Backlash card, it could be Seth vs Sami or Jey vs Paul, but that'll mean just one woman's match, so hopefully they leave those 2 for SNME and we get something added from what they've been building with Rhea, Iyo Roxy & Giulia.

Did a different writer who didn't watch last week write Orton's promo on Smackdown this week? Because while it was good it did feel a bit contradictory with Randy suddenly being all "I always knew Cena was a fraud" after talking about what a great role model he was for children last week.

I have. There's a female there named Kali Armstrong who stands out among the women. Once you see her in the ring, you will love her as she has the looks, the charisma and has some size and is solid in the ring (that is by far her main weakness, although she's not terrible). When I mean size it's like she's not Raquel size, but more like Bianca Belair as she's a former track athlete like Bianca was. She'll be in NXT before long.

Shotzi and Austin Theory's posts this week make more sense. I feel it in my bones that Austin Theory is gone.
