WWE SIGNS INTERNATIONAL STAR
by Mike Johnson @ 10:54 PM on 7/8/2012

PWInsider.com has confirmed that WWE has signed British star PAC, who had been working for Dragon Gate in Japan and DGUSA here in the States. Billed as the "Man that Gravity Forgot", he is a hell of a flier. This is a great signing.

4 years ago, I went to my first Ring of Honor event in Philadelphia, and one of the matches I got to see was Bryan Danielson vs Austin Aries. One heck of a match, they tore it up.

Fast forward, and now both of these guys are main-eventers in the mainstream, both have held or are currently holding world championship gold.

It is surreal.
Damn, you got to see AmDrag vs Aries live? One of the few pairings I never got to see here in NYC. Only seen him vs KENTA, KENTA & Samoa Joe in the same match, Claudio Castagnoli, Homicide, Takeshi Morishima 4 times, Nigel McGuinness 3 times...

Okay, so I guess I lucked out here nonetheless.

Just saw the commercial for the 1000th raw.Whoever wrote it was a genius.

Austin Aries is World Champ?... Haven't watched TNA in a while, is he still the X-Division champ too?

A bit of a surprising signing to me given the way WWE books their Diva division. I was hoping she would end up in TNA instead. Good for her though, as I know se had made comments that getting into WWE was a goal of hers. Hopefully she can make some cash and WWE will allow her to make a mark for herself in a good way.

Also, WWE has been looking at a lot of independent talents from ROH and Dragon Gate, among others to sign. Interesting move that reeks of HHH's new role as head of talent relations.

WWE SIGNING ONE OF THE TOP FEMALES IN THE BUSINESS
by Mike Johnson @ 10:01 AM on 7/9/2012

As I discussed during the TNA Destination X Post-Game show, Sara del Rey, One of the top female stars in the world has been offered a WWE deal and is currently undergoing her pre-signing medical testing. Del Rey was one of the showcase talents for SHIMMER's Women Wrestling and had strong showings and run in both CHIKARA and Ring of Honor.
From a wrestling standpoint, the company couldn't have looked to sign a stronger female talent.

-Matt Taven, who held the Northeast Wrestling championship and recently appeared on ROH TV, is in the process of signing a WWE deal. Taven worked a dark match at the most recent Florida Championship Wrestling TV taping.

Taven was trained by Spike Dudley and ROH's Bob Evans.

-F4Wonline.com is reporting WWE is interested in working with UFC fighter Chael Sonnen.

Sonnen, who suffered a loss to Anderson Silva on Saturday night, is being targeted by WWE to get involved in some fashion. There is no indication if WWE wants the 35 year-old fighter to wrestle or have another role.

Sonnen is friends with WWE Champion CM Punk. You might recall months ago when CM Punk wanted to escort Sonnen to the Octagon for a fight and WWE denied permission to Punk to appear on UFC television.

Sonnen also has close ties to Stone Cold Steve Austin who has been bringing the UFC veteran out to his Broken Skull Ranch to work on strength and conditioning.

Molly Holly is underrated as hell. When she was @her best in WCW, she was one of the best looking ladies in the biz. I don't think she had any fake parts either. She got a lil' bigger than I wanted her to be by the end of her career in WWE & they didn't let her wrestle to the best of her ability which is a shame because she's one of the best workers ever as far as Divas go

TNA is better than WWE right now. The titles mean something. In WWE, Cena means everything :(

Totally.

I can see Sara Del Rey (let's call her "SDR" from now on, to demonstrate how fundamental she is ;)) can be repackaged to be a Lita-like character for the divas division, which they've been sorely missing for a while.

I didn't see the PPV last night, but the Aries/Roode feud has been booked just like how a title feud should be booked. WWE pay attention; sometimes the simplified storylines are the best ones.

She was just a naturally beautiful woman. Nothing fake, not a ton of make-up, or model builds. She was like your girl next door or soccer mom type.

I think by the end she was worn out and already had her eyes set on leaving the business. She is very active in her faith and church and has pretty much separated herself from business. I miss her dearly. She was one of the top 5 best female workers in modern history IMO.

TNA has done a fantastic job with establishing their titles, and particularly building several guys who you can see as their world champ if they need to plug them in. Aries, Storm, Roode, Angle, Hardy, AJ. You can even make and argument for RVD and Anderson, though they suck these days. Bully Ray is a guy whose character can work as the champ because he's so damn great at generating heat and being believable.

Would Del Rey sell out to WWE like that? She was one of the last I would have thought to have ever signed with WWE.

Also, isn't Chael Sonnen under a UFC contract that would prevent him from doing anything with the WWE except to sit in the stands with the fans?

They've shortened the strap on the TNA belt haven't they? At times Roode looked to have trouble fastening it around his waist efficiently, so I'd presume Aries would too if they haven't.

Edit - It does look like it's been shortened, actually.

Also, I don't think the WWE will use Pac or SDR correctly, because the creative team has the combined IQ of 10.

I'm glad you brought this up because it was something I've always hated about the new belt. They made the strap too long, but the main problem is they added too many side plates and it made for less buttons on the strap, which makes it practically impossible to wear.

They have not shortened the belt.

I wish TNA would go back to using the original TNA title they made when they got rid of the NWA titles. That belt was the perfect size and had a very old-school classy look to it.

That TNA PPV from start to finish was actually pretty good Daniels vs. AJ Kurt and Joe and AA and Roode all pretty good matches.

I like Molly Holly , she just didn't make my top ten. Also I like Cherry , Serena , and Rosa Mendez.

PAC has great athleticism. I wonder if he'll make it in WWE.

It's a shame I missed the TNA ppv , it sounds good.

****, now I'll have to start watching TNA more.....lol

who's PAC??

is he a small(er) guy like Bourne??

Really? My belt enthusiast friend's (the one's who gave me the lowdown and description on the new WWE title before the pic leaked) tell me it has been, Hmmm...

The new belt at least seems a more universal design, rather than one that is tailor made to a particular superstar, but personally I'm still not a fan of its design.

Hopefully HHH was behind this signing to bolster the division. they are not only thin on talent but bodies and Del Rey gives them more of both. particularly when they need good workers to put in Kharmas way.

Ditto. All those girls are nice. I left Sarita Beth Lita and lots of others off my list not becuse I don't like then there are just so many!

I really miss a Triple H-type antgonist in the WWE these days, or at least a heel that could push the envelope a bit to those kind of levels.

Maybe Sandow can fill that void one day.Either that or they can snatch up Robert Roode.

Everytime I see Zack Ryder smile...
