The Wrestling Thread Is The Only One Who Can Have Me - Part 226

Having Enzo and Cass as a part of this feud is the perfect way to extend it to Summerslam where AJ SHOULD get the rub from Cena and go over.

The Wyatts look like a monster heel stable but they are usually booked like jobbers.

Bray's solo win ratio is appalling. Seth Rollins, Jericho, the Miz, Kevin Owens and so on all win matches as heels far more than Bray Wyatt does.

By rights the stable looks like a ready replacement for Kane and the Undertaker but for whatever reason the higher ups blow hot and cold on them.

It's a shame since as a unit the Wyatts have a huge upside. Those guys are monsters. And at least two of them can work. But they could easily be the dominant faction in the company by a wide margin. The Shields at their peak had nothing on these guys but WWE knew to protect them. The Wyatts should get the same treatment. There's a ton they could do in angles with Lesnar, and the stuff with Taker and Kane and Cena could have been so much better than they were.

Bray alone is money of they'd use him right. Great heel if used properly.

I'd like to see AJ beat Cena clean but I don't know how realistic an expectation that is. I mean AJ is the heel and it's okay for heels to play dirty most of the time. I'd settle for AJ just winning due to his own methods. Cena is going to beat AJ straight up fairly soon so you might as well prepare for that. It's just the way things work with the face typically being booked like he would win if it wasn't for the cheating heel. The reason the dynamic is different with Cena is because of fan reaction. I mean the only guys who rack up several clean wins as a heel are guys like Triple H, Vader, Lesnar, Kane, and Matanza.

You want to build up Bray Wyatt, have him beat Ambrose cleanly for the title and Ambrose needs to move heaven and earth to get his title back over a 6-12 month period with other feuds in between. Have it kinda mirror the old Austin/Undertaker feuds.

Gotta give him a solid LONG reign a la Seth Rollins to truly cement him as a main eventer.

That's not a bad idea.

I think they've done a good job building AJ even in most of his losses. I think even Cena knows the right thing is to put AJ over. I haven't been watching wwe much at all the last six months but I've gotten back into it a little bit after Mania. I think seeing what they've done with AJ and a few other guys like Ambrose, Zayn, Owens.

Now wether Cena ends up putting AJ over or not I don't know but he's screwed up before not putting certain guys over and he has to know what's right for business on this one.

Except that this has happened before, and yet Cena still keeps on burying people regardless. So why would this time be any different in that regard?

Honestly the best option, imo, would have been to turn Cena heel (yeah I giggled as I was typing that, because it'll never happen. But it'd be the best option I think).

As for the Wyatts, not having them be completely humiliated by Super-Cena and The Rock at WrestleMania (one of the MANY horrible booking decisions on that show), and having them actually WIN their feud with the BOD, would have gone a long way towards salvaging their rep (and the latter could be a symbolic "passing the torch" moment to boot). But no, that'd make too much sense for Vinny Mac and co.

I swear, he needs to win a freaky Emmy for this role. Talk about going all out. I was laughing my a** off throughout the entire thing. You know, it's kind of nice when they realize that pro wrestling is kind of inherently silly and ridiculous a lot of the time and then just run with it full tilt.

These guys, Lashley, Maria, The Wolves, and Decay (especially Rosemary, Rosemary is awesome) are my big reasons for still tuning into TNA these days.

As an aside, Matt's wife is freaking hot!! Like dang!!

I wonder which happens first: Randy Orton coming back or the official press release of the cast of Spider-Man Homecoming?

Both are taking forever to do anything.

Vince said in a conference call in May that Orton, Cena, Rollins and Wyatt would all return within a month. Cena, Rollins and Wyatt have since returned and Orton hasn't yet.

And Spiderman Homecoming is a few weeks into shooting and no announcement on who's playing who other than Tom Holland, RDJ and Marisa Tomei. The delay in the announcement is un-Marvel like.

How are the ratings and house shows drawing with Ambrose as champ?

Monday's Raw was the lowest rated episode of Raw ever, but that's not surprising given the holiday and the near continuous decline in ratings over the last few years.

It's really hard to say that it reflects specifically on the champion.

As far as I know the Ambrose house show tours are still doing well. He was headlining the B tour shows and drawing better numbers in smaller markets than Reigns' A show tour when Reigns was champ.

in other random news:

Shibata will be making his US debut with Ring Of Honor in August

spoiler alert: he's gonna kick someone into the next week

I greatly appreciate Bret Hart as a performer but he needs to stop talking. 90% of what he says now is just ragging on people and talking about how great he is

Why is there this narrative that Cena buries people? It's not his company...it's not his decision. It's Vince's. Vince gets final say with every major booking decision. We've spent the last two years complaining about everyone losing to Reigns, but no one gets mad at Reigns about it...they direct their venom where it belongs: at Vince. Cena's in the same position. Yes, he has a longer tenure than Reigns, and yes, he theoretically has more political stroke, but these aren't the days of Nash and Hogan making power plays backstage. These aren't even the days of Triple H collecting world championship reigns because he was married to the boss's daughter. Vince McMahon is the lord and master of WWE. He controls wins and losses. Not John Cena. Cena is an employee who does what he is told, just like Reigns, just like Ambrose, just like Styles.

Believe me, I'm sick and tired of Cena's act too...there's no one who could benefit more (character wise) from a heel turn. But, the way he is assaulted for booking decisions that he doesn't even make, as if he's 1998 Kevin Nash, is way over the top in my view.

I feel like Orton is retiring due to all the injuries he has had but he hasn't come out and announce it yet.

Orton vs. Lesnar was just confirmed for Summerslam. Dr. Evil may now be at peace.
