The Wrestling Thread Isn't Feeling Very Ucey

Do Rock vs Reigns at Mania....but have Rock assist Cody in taking the belt off Roman at like the Royal Rumble to set it up :o I wouldn't want that for the title. Just make it for Tribal Chief or whatever

Roman's not losing the belt before Mania. Hell he might not lose it then. Come Mania, Roman will be only three months away from breaking Hogan's record. Wouldn't be surprised if they have him do it. But right now I'd say he drops the belt at Mania 40.

I see Rock had an altercation with Theory earlier and gave him a rock bottom and people's elbow. I didn't get home til just before 9.

I dont think Roman is losing it before Mania either. I am just saving if they end up going a Rock vs Roman route for Mania, I would rather it not be for the title. I don't think that match would need it. It would main event the show with or without the title. Also, given that would likely be a match Roman would win, it would extend the reign longer and I think it's already starting to feel like they are running out of ideas for what to do with Roman. So, in my fantasy scenario where this match would happen at Mania, I would prefer a version where Rock helps Roman lose when the minions are about to help him win yet again, then Rock stops it, Roman loses, then cue their rivalry while new champion (Cody still my pick) faces someone like Gunther. That's how I would book this scenario

That certainly was one helluva pop for The Rock.

But sheesh, this strike is really making these stars find their way back home. I wonder how long until Batista comers back lol.

Nice. I'm also praying for your safety. In his older age, I feel like he sees everyone as a Young Lion.
He's facing Charles Mason in one of the main events of the show. And I have front row tickets. There's a high percentage of me being murdered at this show. But damn would it be one hell of a way to go out.

I'm not a fan of Suzuki but you don't see him everyday at an indie show. I'm also happy that the tickets for this show were not nearly as expensive as the ones when Tanahashi showed up last month.

Mustafa Ali just said on Twitter he’s not with WWE anymore.

They really wasted him.

Other than Mustafa Ali, I didn't think the others released were still in WWE.

Not meant to be a hot take but I've no problem with the cuts so far, as there's a clear bloat issue on the roster. Even Ali is a reasonable cut, as they've tried a lot of different things with him and it hasn't worked.

Having said that, this feels like the calm before the storm; get the easy ones out of the way early before the real shockers come.

Kind of surprised that Ziggler got cut. Seemed like a WWE lifer to me and someone that could contribute backstage with development. After 18 years of service it sucks to see him getting cut like this. I wonder if he requested the release.

I'd say Dolph isn't exactly devastated. He's made his money and can now go try and something with his brother.

Tbh I think he's been mentally checked out for at least 7 years.

I figured Dolph would get a backstage job with them. He's been there 20 years.

From what I just saw the releases are:

Shelton Benjamin
Dolph Ziggler
Riddick Moss
Emma
Elias
Mustafa Ali
Top Dolla
Aaliyah
Rick Boogs
Maximum Male Models ( Should have put these guys in a program with Pretty Deadly)

I'm sure more cuts are coming. I thought Riddick would have done better in WWE with his size and look, but they stuck him with that stupid Madcap gimmick, then they gave him his name back and did nothing with him.

Axios - WWE founder Vince McMahon sets the stage for his possible exit
  • But he's also one of its greatest liabilities. Not only for past misconduct, including payoffs to cover up alleged sexual misconduct, but because in July he was served with both a federal search warrant and a federal grand jury subpoena — although the nature of the investigation is unclear, and McMahon hasn't been charged with a crime.
  • TKO itself says in a regulatory filing: "McMahon's membership on our Board could expose us to negative publicity and/or have other adverse financial and operational impacts on our business. His membership also may result in additional scrutiny or otherwise exacerbate the other risks described herein. Any of these outcomes could directly or indirectly have adverse financial and operational impacts on our business."

Seems like he stopped caring a while back. Dolph accepted being a midcarder and collecting a check in WWE. Seems like he is more interested in his comedy act these days. I never got the vibe he wanted to be a trainer, booker or in management.

Anyone watching Smackdown? I just got home. It's Asuka vs IYO. After they entered we were treated to the entrance of the 14 time women's champion Charlotte Flair. :o

The match is pretty good so far.
