I've never gone to a WWE PPV (and at this rate, I never will), but I've been to plenty of house shows over the years. You get a good amount of wrestling, and the atmosphere is great depending on your city.

House shows are usually much better, IMO.

I've been to a few Raw's but only one PPV, which was No Mercy 2007...3 frickin' Triple H matches in one night! And that damn Punjabi prison match! Still had a great time though.

My cousin claimed that he saw Big Daddy V in a little Ford Escape after the show.

Scobey Trumpet sounds like the name for a type of fart.

Yeah, that shocked me. Triple H was a workhorse that night and Randy Orton was a fu**ing genius to invoke his rematch clause on the same night.

Re: Wrestlemania 29

I really want Punk Vs. Rock at WM since it seems like Austin isn't going to work it. At least if they do Cena Vs. Rock II at the Rumble, it wasn't at Wrestlemania so the "once in a lifetime" shtick can still have its meaning somewhat.

John Cena is like your friendly, football-playing older brother. You worshipped him when you were a kid, but when you're an older teen or adult, you realize that he's kind of boring and stuck in the past, and you're sick of how your parents still like him more than you.

Cena for me is like that funny kid who told you poop and fart jokes when you were ten who you run into now that your as adult who hasn't changed at all. He still find pop and fart jokes funny and wears the exactly the same clothes he did when you were ten.

To me, Cena is like Eminem in a way so to speak. Entertaining to watch because he was a sh** talking punk then once he "matured", he got boring.

That's a good comparison, the both got so OVER that they became sell outs. Lol it's so true.

Did anyone else notice the horrible profile pic Trish Stratus has when you google search her name.

Cena is Cena. And over pushed entertainer that mistakes cockiness for confidence.
Low brow toilet humor for an interesting promo.
Safe, plodding wrestling moves for a good match.
Vanilla for fun.

He got lucky with his rap gimmick, we've all been waiting for that same edge ever since.

I think his rap gimmick is what makes me hate him more. Because I know what he was. Even The Rock was Rocky Maivia, but still... Cena is just a 21st century hype machine.

At least the rap gimmick was different and he stood out from all the other vanilla milkshakes at the time. Now I dunno what he is. A supposed marine? Or a tribute to marines? Just some guy that tries way too hard to be humble in order to stop the crowd from completely turning on him (which they do most of the time anyway).
Let it go, WWE. Give him a chance to run around as a heel for a while and find a new edge, let CM or (insert name here) sit at the top and have a chance to properly shine without the Cena shadow getting in the way.

Cena kinda seems like Ned Flanders in the sense that he acts as the white knight good guy, but deep down inside he wants to snap and tell the world to go **** itself. I hope he finally does snap one day.

I wouldn't comsider Cena that cocky. Hogan had way more swagger than Cena. Cena is so boring and hum drun for a superhero babyface. Everything about Hogan, Warrior, Sting, and Goldberg screamed larger than life while Cena is just a guy who makes crappy jokes and wears t- shirts and jean shorts. If you want a superhero babyface go all the way with it.

He comes off as extremely cocky in his promos. The whole not taking anything seriously thing is total cocky arrogance. There's nothing endearing about it at all.

The only guy to pull it off well, and successfully as a big time main event star was Rock.

To me cocky is talking about how great and talented you are all the time. Cena spends way too much time kissing ass and talking about trying earn respect from the fans.

they will turn cena years down the road when they run out of things to do with him and by then noone will care and wwe will claim this is why he wasnt turned

This.

It's exactly why I hate his character. It's not even the fact he pretty much repeats himself in every promo. It just seems like he hardly cares and doesn't take it serious anymore. He's been champ a number of times and is the biggest star they have. What else does he have to prove? Nothing. It's like he's just collecting a pay check.

I gave this thread a rest for a good 12 months, possibly more. Alas, I have come full circle. It's still Cena that seems to be a problem with the WWE main event scene (he's the new HHH IMO).
They're still letting go of some valuable talents and mistreating ones they have, and still being run like amateurs that just so happen to have a lot of money, awesome production values and good talent.

WWE is pretty much a Michael Bay film. All glitz and glamor with no heart or story.

I wouldn't go that far. As much as I don't really care for Cena, the man is a work horse. He probably has enough pull to work a lighter schedule if he wanted, but he doesn't.

Curious, has anyone here been to a live WWE match? I got two floor tickets to Hell In A Cell, that's how I plan on kicking off my vacation haha. :D

Not sure what to really expect.

Been to lots of live wrestling shows. If this is your first then you are really in for quite a night.

I used to go constantly back in the late 80's and early 90's. I remember being in the front row seeing Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair when they weren't TOO old. :oldrazz::cwink:

My favorite live show was King of the Ring '99? I'm not sure what year it was because things are hazy but basically it was the night that Mick Foley was thrown from Hell in a Cell, put THROUGH the cell, and then chokeslammed onto thumbtacks.

It was the most insane thing I ever saw because when Foley was thrown off the cage through the table everyone pretty much thought they had finally killed someone. :wow:
