The Xbox One - Part 6

Xbox One (it only started earlier this month), we're still learning about how Microsoft will handle things. It seems that the free games offered won't necessarily be swapped out every month, as Max: The Curse of Brotherhood--one of the two free games in June--will remain free throughout July. Halo: Spartan Assault, on the other hand, will go back to its regular price on July 1, when Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will be made free in its place.

Luckily just got Spartan Assault and Max last night. So Guacamelee is free on 360 right now as well in case you want it on there.

Right now, I'm still playing my Wii U more than anything.

Mario Kart and Shovel Knight all day!!!

What's Shovel Knight? Really want to play Mario Kart & SM3DW.

You can get it on Steam, too. So PC and Mac. ;)

Oh right, may have to look into it for pc then. Thanks

I just snagged that new Sniper Elite off the XB1 dashboard. Really wish MS would let us east coasters get our games at midnight, rather than have to wait til 3am.

How much was it?

so do you think there's a chance that next year, MS will release a 1tb HDD version of the X1?

or, at least, let people upgrade their HDDs themselves? ( doesn't it void your warranty? )

49.99 US.

Im sure they'll release an X1 with a bigger HDD at some point, but I don't think they'll ever let you upgrade your HDD yourself.

well, with MS, who knows what they'll do next..........lol

at least you can hook up external HDDs to the X1.

and just to clarify, is the reason why you can't upgrade your X1 HDD because it's too difficult to open it up and swap it out?

or, is it because it will void your warranty or MS will somehow "ban" your console?

Yes & yes.

oh, and to follow up on this about watching TV through X1.

can I still leave my cable box connected directly to my TV via the coax cable? so, I can still watch cable through my TV's "TV input."

it's just when I want to watch channels in HD, via HDMI, then I need to use the X1, if I hook the cable box to the X1.

yes?

That might work but I didn't try it and don't know. Let me know if it does, would be a better setup.

well, I'll let you know..........when I get an X1. :cwink:

They use a proprietary HDD I believe. So you can't just swap it out even if you wanted.

I know with the 360, it was proprietary.

but I thought with the X1, they used a more standard HDD......

Yea I think ur right, but the way it's designed isn't to be removed or replaced, according to MS. I'm sure if you knew what u were doing, you could prob swap it out but it's not sometbing MS has made easy.

ah. I see.

that's one thing I'm concerned about. that if I get an X1 this year, the 500g HDD won't be upgradeable.

Yeah...I know you can hook up external storage.....

but still.........

I don't completely get the aversion to external storage. I wish the PS4 offered that feature

Well unless you really know what ur doing(and don't mind having ur warranty voided) it won't be.
