The Xbox One - Part 6

So, I'm considering getting one. But I am wondering if I should wait until November, for a good bundle. Apparently Sunset Overdrive is being hinted at.

If there is nothing out now and you are seriously thinking of waiting till November, then do that. Im sure there will be some type of deal around Black Friday to entice you

Don't expect a price drop on or around Black Friday. That's one thing people always think will happen.. But never does. Hell when these consoles launched everyone online was talking about waiting til BF to see if they got a better price deal.

yeah.....we just technically got a price cut, so I doubt we'll see another one this year.

I'd imagine, come BF and XMAS time, there will be some bundle deals, as well as deals on the games themselves and XBOX Live.

You can always find deals. I found mine on ebay. It was a brand new Titanfall bundle for $400, so of course, I jumped on it.

And now I hear Gamestop is buying the Kinect for $40, which I think I'm gonna sell it to them. I hate my Kinect. It's not even plugged in.

Like others have said, if you don't have to have it right now, then wait, there's no doubt there will be some new bundles and what not.

But if you do go with one now, I don't think you'll be dissapointed. There's plenty there to justify the price you'd pay.

so assuming they do release a version with a bigger HDD down the road, don't you think they'd also release an "official HDD upgrade kit" for those with the current 500gb models?

like, if you use the "official MS sanctioned" 1tb HDD in the upgrade kit, then that won't void the warranty when you swap out the current HDD.

I think that would be a better solution than to force the current customers to buy a whole new model if they want a bigger internal HDD in the future.

right now, Best Buy is offering a deal where you can get Titanfall for $20 when you buy it with a new X1 console.

Nah. I'd be willing to bet if MS allows us to upgrade the internal HDD it will be with THEIR brand HDD's like they did with the 360.

yeah....that's what I meant by "official MS" HDD upgrade kit.

I just imagine that they'd provide some kind of solution for current owners to upgrade, instead of just saying "Too bad. you're SOL. Got to buy a brand new model in you want a bigger HDD."

Or they'd just say take the easier route and get you an external HDD. Regardless, that's by far the easiest option in terms of upgrading your HDD space. Plug and go. No opening your console.

I think that's why they allow us to use external HDDs, they have no intention of letting us go into the console to swap one out

that's probably true. it's just that you would have an extra set of wires sticking out. However, with the X1 having USB ports in the back, I suppose it would be less intrusive if I plugged in an external HDD in one of the back ports.

Yea that's how I'll go about it. Ill use one of those ports on the back and I'll never see the external HDD

By the looks of things I could end up getting my external HDD's before my PS4 internal memory.. and for cheaper. If this is the case.... The Xbox One could become my main gaming console for a bit.

I've said before outside of a few titles I'm going digital this gen.

I almost bought one today from Office Depot. They had a 1 TB HDD for 70 bux, but I held off as A, I wasnt sure if it was a good HDD or not and B, im not quite at the point where I need the space. I will come Oct though, for sure.

I've traded in all my disc games for Xbox gift cards. Getting ready to go mainly digital in September.

So far the Xbone sounds like a good console to not go digital with. From what I'm told it's the quietest disc-based console ever.

No, you can't save games to a flash drive because they have to have a minimum of 256G of storage. And going digital doesn't have to do with the noise of the drive, but the convenience of switching between games at the speed of your voice and not having to get up.

Definitely don't get that. You can get 4 times the storage for only twice the price. I've seen 4 TB Externals go for $150 regularly and as low as $130 on sale. I'm waiting for it to hit $130 again before I pull the trigger. I doubt I'll fill up the HDD even after the holiday releases so I can afford to wait it out.

Yea, it makes me sound so damn lazy, but I love that feature.

I just hope digital catches up to physical in terms of 'features' like preordering(which you can on the PS4) and pre order bonuses. I was at Gamestop today and i asked the guy if i could preorder a copy of Far Cry 4 so i could get the bonuses and then just get the digital copy when i pick up the game and he told me I couldnt.

Even if you only sell back a 1/4 of the games you buy, that's still a high enough percentage for me to not wanna buy digital.

I've been big on resale in the past but it's something I don't mind giving up for the convenience. Plus I'm not going fully digital. I still plan to get single player campaign games physical. Like the Halo collection. Once I play through all 4 campaigns again, I'll be done with it.
