The Xbox One - Part 7

I did read that Microsoft is giving replacements for loud Bones. Probably because they want to keep the notion of their system being less problem prone a thing.

I don't know, maybe I am giving up too easily with the PS4.

What do you mean by chirping exactly?

Interesting, I did a google search, and the chirping is apparently a common enough issue to be a google suggestion.

Well, I guess I'm just ****ed this generation.

I'm telling you Thunder, I wouldn't be rushing towards the X1 solely on the basis that it has less problems than the PS4.

I mean, just go to forums, even the official Xbox forums, and you'll find people posting about problems with their X1s.

Not just hardware problems like disc drive noises ( grinding or chirping ) but also software issues like the UI lagging/freezing, games not starting up or crashing back to the Dashboard, the system not recognizing discs that you put in, all kinds of error codes popping up, the need to reboot/power cycle the console constantly, etc.

Some people have said they're on the 3rd or 4th X1 and they're fed up with MS and are getting a PS4 instead ( the opposite of your experience ).

I believe Amazon even flagged the Madden bundle because that was the one making the grinding disc drive noises, or at least that's what I read.

again, it's hard to judge how common and widespread these problems are or if they are isolated incidents magnified by disgruntled users voicing their opinions on the net.

So, I'm just saying, don't automatically assume the X1 will be a more stable console. maybe it is, maybe it isn't. but I've heard X1 horror stories, too.

indeed, it was one reason why I changed my mind and returned my X1. it sounded like the product would be way more of a headache to deal with, especially compared to the PS4, which hasn't been a headache for me ( so far ).

I can't help but think you either have the worst luck this gen or you're a console hypochondriac.

Im inclined to agree. I don't believe there are issues that are nearly as widespread as he is making it out to be

and if issues with the PS4 were widespread, somehow, I don't think it would have sold so many units so far.

I think Amazon got a bad batch of the White bundles and Thunder, unfortunately, got 2 of those consoles.

I had no interest in nba 2k15 until heard you could scan your face into the game. Now I'm just too curious to see myself in a game lol

I really hope you get two bad consoles in a row, and that you then have to spend hours trying to find a solution to no avail.

Not widespread my ass.

well that's a horrible thing to say. Id never wish for someone to have an expensive purchase break down on them

Well, it's incredibly frustrating.

I spent hours on forums trying to find an answer, but there seem to be a billion problems with this console. Seriously, check Sony's own website, thousands, and thousands of threads. Granted, half of them seem to be software.

And then you have to talk to Mumbai.

I'll say this much for the Wii U, obvious problem, obvious solution.

Well you were just overly paranoid and looking for an excuse to dump ur X1, he's actually had a few issues. He's just had bad luck tho, the chances of him getting another bad console are slim. Neither console has had major issues like what we saw with say the red rings of death. The failure rates of these console are about average for other consoles in previous generations...excluding the rrod

Yea iv been wanting that feature in the game ever since kinect was announced. EA has done something similar but they don't use the Eye or Kinect so it's a pretty spotty process. I'm a bit disappointed the feature will only be for my player and my gm mode tho. Wish they'd add it to standard CAP.

I really, really, really want to play D4. It's the one thing so far that makes me want to get an Xbox One.

yeah.....I did get paranoid. and I'm kind of regretting my decision to return it.

but, with the holidays approaching, I'm sure there will be better deals coming up. And, I feel that a standard 1TB model is going to be released soon.

so, I'll just wait for a better deal to come along.

plus, my original plan was to wait for a 1TB model anyways. I just got sucked into the free game deal week and got caught up in the Destiny hype. So, I jumped the gun.

where's your source that you gotta go through mumbai? coz every time I called sony I spoke to an american or spanish american lady and I also agree with havok and tom marvolo riddle I really don't think these problems are as widespread as you're making em out to be

I feel for you, don't get me wrong and I think sony's got horrible CS which doesn't help anyone so **** em but eventually everything's gonna be fine, you know

I'll just repost what I said in the Xbox vs PS4 thread:

Yeah, there really hasn't been any "widely reported" issues with any of the current-gen three consoles. Sure, some have had issues, which you can find from googling but, like your disc drive issues with your Wii U and calling it a 'common issue', doing so will really also show there's way more people who aren't having issues. There's always issues with new consoles and all, but you seem to have a habit of assuming just because you had the issue that it's some huge, widespread problem, when it really looks like you just have the lousy luck of landing in the minority of users who are having issues.

Honestly, from a hardware standpoint, the launch of the Xbone and PS4 have been way smoother than the 360 and PS3. There hasn't been any widespread issues like the 360's PRROD or the emulation issues that the OG PS3 models had.

No one will deny that there's problems out there, sure there is with any hardware, but you like implying (or outright saying) that it's some huge widespread problem and then prompting us to do research. I know from your Wii U rants that I found way more people not having issues from searching. Those with these severe issues definitely seem to be in a minority.

It's just weird really that you've gotten what, 2 Wii Us and 2 PS4s in a row that had issues? And three of those four things were related to disc drive sounds? Like I said, it honestly sounds like you've got the absolutely worst luck this gen, or some of this stuff might just be in your head, like you hear the smallest sound and you think it's something huge. I don't mean that to be mean, honestly, but I can't help but make that observation, especially after hearing essentially the same stuff in regard to your Wii U purchases(s?).

I get what you're saying, but can you really blame him for being so pissed off with getting one ****ed console after another?

Actually, the Wii U was rather surprising, since problems aren't widespread. The first one had what I assume must have been a defective drive since it was exceptionally loud, and I returned it (having had another, I can safely say that was not normal). The second had a defective HDMI port. Nintendo confirmed the problem, and fixed it. You'll find threads about that one, so it's rare but certainly not unheard of.

The first PS4 made a sound that several other videos on youtube have, so I can actually give an example of that, if you'd like. This isn't unusual, obviously.

I still seem to be having minor disc and fan issues with my second unit, though nothing that sounds like a buzz saw like the first. But for 450, I better get a unit that is in perfect order. Especially when people on the internet are telling me mine is abnormal

I wish this all were in my head, but it's not. Just bad luck.

Having said that, from all I have read, the PS4 certainly seems to have more issues than the Wii U and Xbox One. Though the latter seems to have had a recent bad batch.

Also for what it's worth I have a PS3 Super Slim, which makes more noise than sixteen Dreamcasts piled up all playing Skies of Arcadia. But everyone's Super Slim sounds like that so, it doesn't concern me.

Ironic thing was I got it because I was tired of my "loud" original PS3.

Oh, the irony...

Of course not, but that's not really what I'm talking about.

I know what you're talking about and I agree with you but why not just let him vent and say the **** he wants to say, you know? Any of us would be just as full of rage as he was if we were in his position.

I'll shut up about it soon enough.

...till I get my defective chirping Xbone.

I don't know, why is it that replying to his posts is such a big deal to you? Hell, he's less defensive than what you're being about my responses. Besides, as I said, I'm not really talking about his venting or his anger; I find both understandable. Totally different issues, breh.

it's NOT a big deal, I guess I kinda am egging you on too much. I just looked at your post about how you're breaking down the fact that so far the widespread issues of the Ps4 and xbone are not exactly that widespread but I feel like I've seen you or others do that a couple times already. But maybe that's necessary, you know

so fine, I'll stop

just curious Thunder, but did you get your Wii Us from Amazon, too?
