No. Best Buy. First online, second in store.

ah. ok.

I tend to buy my electronics from Best Buy and so far, console wise, never have had a problem.

though I did buy my PS4 from Toy R Us. wanted to get it at BB, but they were playing stupid "games" with their stock of PS4s. so I took my business elsewhere.......:o

I have epic bad luck.

I am going to try the Xbox One. I'm thinking Gamestop. But if that has problems, I'm just going to pay one of you guys 500 dollars to send me your console.

Dont do that man. If you do that you are going to force us to read Banefuls lame "noooooo, don't go to the X1!!!!!!!111!!!" posts. Please, I beg you, don't put us through that.

so, when do you think will be the earliest we get the 1st redesign of the X1 ( slim or not )?

think next year will be too soon?

I think we'll see a redesign in 3-4 years from now...at the earliest.

WAY too soon. Like Travesty stated, Im guessing we'll see the first major redesign around 2017.

The OG Xbox was barely even around long enough for a redesign, they discontinued the console like 5 years after it hit and shifted all focus to the 360.

yeah. you're probably right. I could see a standard 1 TB model ( for both X1 and PS4 ) coming next year. but, yeah, a redesigned system is probably still a few years off.

Even so when the ps3 slim was launched, people immediately began asking Microsoft if there'd be a redesign and they said no. Fast forward about a year and we have ourselves a slim 360.

Its not like they could very well announce a redesign a year in advance. Doing so would have put a slump in 360 sales. Manufacturers don't tend to confirm this stuff till as late as possible, like a few weeks before it happens

I think they just lie.

When that PC gamer found a code in the PC version of Me2 indicating a Ps3 port, bioware denied that one was in development.

Last year pre-e3, Microsoft was saying the xbone had an infrastructure that required it to be always online, always connected, and that said infrastructure couldn't change.

They just ****ing lie. That is the conclusion I've drawn

Why would they say yes? So people could wait and not buy the current console on the market?

They do, no question about it. Upper management likes to keep everything close to the vest and they want to announce things on their schedule, even when the rest of world knows what's going on.

In some of those cases it's not admitting to things that have been found out (that shouldn't have been), or just throwing millions away for no reason.

I really, really, really want to play D4. It's the one thing so far that makes me want to get an Xbox One.

It seems interesting. Apparently the developer is a huge cult favorite like Suda 51? Not really familiar with his past work. I mentioned it earlier, but it got buried under hardware and media discussion as usual. I'm thinking about picking it up this week, seeing what it's like. I've heard it plays like the Telltale games, but I haven't played any of those.

so, really, what is the difference between 900p vs 1080p?

I mean, on a big screen hdtv, can you really tell the difference between the two?

and, it's my understanding the X1 "upscales" the resolution anyways? or is that not the case?

The difference is just more pixels. One looks better than the other, because a high amount of pixels are being rendered.

It depends on the size whether you can tell the difference or not. Now, back in the day, it was said you needed at least 40-50 inch TV to really tell a difference between 720p and 1080p, but now it seems the goalposts have moved and people are saying you can see that difference even on televisions below 30" (a claim I've very skeptic of).

For comparison sake, I play MGSV on my One on my 39" and it's rendered at 900p, I've played a friend's MGSV on his PS4 on his 32" and it's rendered at full 1080p. Put'em side-by-side, and I couldn't tell you the difference between them. I'm sure at some screen size you can tell a difference, but unless you're going really big, I wouldn't worry about it.

Oh, and I'm not sure how upscaling works, but I've always heard it's never as good as something that is natively rendered at that resolution.
