The Xbox One - Part 7

and more killer deals like the free game one.

hope they do that again before the Holidays.

or else have some really great BF/XMAS deals.

still holding out hope for some kind of standard 1tb Halo MCC bundle.

even if they offered that at $500, that would pretty much solidify me getting an X1 this year.
Yeah the prices are getting competitive now and we are still very early in the generation. In a few years both consoles will have a big back catalogue and be amazing value for the services they offer.

The rest of my game collection has value while it would be worthless if digital. While the price of brand new physical and digital games are anywhere close I won't be making the move. As it stands I can afford to buy every game ever released last gen as I can sell them or trade them in later but with digital that wouldn't be the case. And for some reason when games get really old and can be bought for £2 on ebay the digital price is sometimes still £45!

oh yeah. trading in or selling games helps fund my future game purchases.

I don't buy too many games nowadays, but I'd probably buy even less if I couldn't offset the cost by trading in old games.

indeed, trade in credit will help fund my X1 purchase. I don't want to pay full price for an X1, so trade in credit ( plus my gift cards ) will go a long way towards reducing the total cost of the console ( and games ).

yeah. the PS4 doesn't currently support external drives.

there hasn't been any official word from Sony about it. but, just like when people have asked for media playback and folders for content organization, they've said "pay attention to those features."

so, that implies they are working on it.......but who knows when it will actually come out.
okay, and of the features announced for 2 they haven't said anything about ex HD support and/or media playback?
If digital pricing comes down enough I'll be getting a hard drive like this. As big as possible. I want to be able to put films on there as well as a complete game collection, no redownloading/reinstalling ever again. Then I'll get rid of all physical except for cases of the best games to put on my shelf for decorative display, won't even need the discs.
You should still keep the disc in there man :cwink: it'd add to the room's existential value

no. they haven't said anything official about ex hdd support or media playback in Update 2.0.

they've only "hinted" at those features when posters have asked about them, saying to "pay attention to those features."

oh. you put them in a "cart"? that's what the input was called?

No, the cart was what the games where on. Like the way you buy a game now and the game is on the disc. Did you ever play a NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, GBA, DS or 3DS? The thing that you put into the slots to play the games are called cartridges, or cart fro short.

take this with a huge grain of salt, but someone on Gamefaqs posted that he works at Walmart and he spotted a SKU for a Halo MCC Bundle in November. no proof though.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/691088-xbox-one/70199213

hope it's true and hope it's a 1TB standard console in the bundle.

but I'm not going to believe it until something official is announced.

Oh okay. Yeah I've played nes, n64, and owned a gAmeboy advance sp.

whats so funny travesty

by the way, for last months npd numbers, apparently the madden bundles weren't counted even though they say sales doubled because of it.

Xbox One launches in China with 10 approved games

The Xbox One is out in China, following a brief, last-minute delay. This launch marks the first time a foreign console has been allowed on the Chinese marketplace in 14 years. Microsoft partnered with Chinese media company BesTV on the release, and it reports that the Xbox One is now on sale in 4,000 retail locations in 37 cities around the country, Venture Beat says.

The Xbox One hits China with 10 government-approved games, including Forza Motorsport 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, Dance Central Spotlight, Max: Curse of the Brotherhood, Rayman Legends and a Chinese ID@Xbox game, Naughty Kitties. See the full list of Chinese launch games below. Chinese authorities have established guidelines for the types of games allowed to be sold in the country, banning those that threaten "China's national unity, sovereignty or territorial integrity," and those that promote cults, superstitions, obscenity, drug use, violence or gambling. Microsoft says it's working to get an additional 70 games on Xbox One consoles in China.

Sony is looking to launch PlayStation products in China via a deal with the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Group, though it hasn't announced any firm plans.

I wonder how it will do in China. Can't be worse than how it did in Japan!

There saying that it 100,000 Xbones were moved on day one, though it's not been clear if that's sold or shipped. Still, though, not bad considering the market and all.

the price cut has indeed made the xbone outsell the ps4 last week. raven x knight has reported that ps4 followed suit with a price cut but since people heard about the xbone one first that's what people flocked towards.

Yep sounds decent enough. I hope the consoles can do well in China as there's a lot of potential money over there in the long term when their economy grows and that could make a lot of things possible in worldwide gaming that aren't now, as well as removing some of the risk.

so.......the new Windows is now called.........Windows 10 ( Windows 9.....we hardly knew you.....lol ). it's supposed to be an OS that works across all their platforms ( mobile, tablet, PC, etc. ).

wonder if/how it will affect the X1 UI.

that does look like a Kinect on the far right in this picture. Is that big screen on the right offering a glimpse at a new X1 UI?

yeah....but the question is......is the tv screen above it running the X1 UI? I do see Forza and what looks like Ori? So maybe that is indeed the new X1 UI.

It's such a bad layout. I really do hate it.

what? the current UI?

I'd imagine, with Windows 10 coming out next year, the X1 UI will get a redesign, too.

it may still be tiles based ( judging by the pic above ), but hopefully it will be less cluttered and easier to navigate.

definitely. look at that picture, it's got ONE written all over it, literally.

ONE!!!

now they just need to announce the redesigned X1, a slim "reboot" of the console with better RAM and a replaceable 1TB hdd................that only plays Minecraft. :o

Just the MS OS layout on their devices, which includes the X1. I can't, for the life of me, understand why they think a random assortment of different sized tiles(that you can't control) is appealing? Just look at it, it's a jumbled mess! Maybe if you could control and swap around what sizes you want, so you can make things look clean and proportional if you wanted to, but as it is, it's just such a ****** looking layout to me. And I'm not even talking about how convoluted it is to navigate(which it is), I'm talking about the overall design aesthetic. It's such an eyesore.
