Love that filmyeah. I'll have to play around with it some more. Don't have a 4K disc yet. But I was planning on watching Tangled Blu-Ray tonight on the S ( Rapunzel on a 4K/HDR screen!! ).
In regards to Game mode, I know they recommend to use that to get the lowest Input Lag. But do I HAVE to use it?
And if I use Game mode but then start adjusting the settings, turning HDR on, etc., would that affect the input lag in Game mode, and thus defeat the purpose of using it?
If so, then I might as well just use one of the other Presets which do make the colors pop.
Lol, no of course you don't have to use it. Use what suits you best. If you don't notice any difference on input lag then it's not an issue and you can set up for the best possible image instead. It's really those who are super-competitive on multiplayer for who it can make a telling difference and for them turning off TV processing effects is worth it for a slight edge on performance. And until the games are programmed to take advantage of 4K and HDR that processing isn't that important. For now just use whatever you like best and reevaluate after games comes out that do take advantage.
This could be different on different TVs. On my Sony it tells you when HDR is working but by default it doesn't work. You have to go to each HDM input and set it up for HDR. Kind of stupid. Again you will need a proper HDR source to test this.also, in general, with these 4K/HDR tvs, is it best to leave the "HDR Mode" on Auto?
I'm assuming, with Auto, it will use HDR when it detects a source that supports HDR. correct?
