If I remember correctly, the writers said over at the Xverse that we get to see some of the students powers... whose exactly? I hope they didn't mean Kitty, Iceman, Rogue and Colossus.

A girl took notes without a pen, and some boy flew paper aeroplanes with telekinetically, as *xmenfan* has said.

We saw Jubilee, and seeing as she was the oldest looking and in the centre of the room, she stood out a bit. I really hoped she did something this time, but nope. Nothing.

We saw Siryn crying inside the mansion when everyone else was at the funeral, but she didn't wail, luckily for everyone else.

Yes, we need more Jubilee next time.. it's time she had a larger role and a power display with those 'plasma ball' pyrotechnics. Those balls of white-hot plasma would have been very useful in the final battle...

I was trying to think of what qualified the latest X-Men.
Colossus saved most the children during the mansion raid, Iceman and Rogue saved everyone else with the X-Jet, and Kitty was sent into a top security building to retrieve the files.

If that is the case, then surely when Siryn alerted everyone with her scream, she'd be made an X-Man as well?
And as Jubilee looks like the oldest pupil now, she could have been added to the group. I just think they didn't want too many X-Men, but they really do have to get Jubilee and possibly Siryn to join full time as members by X4.

I agree. Especially as Rogue is out of the picture, and so is Beast really with his new job... Colossus has had his moment really; unless they do backstory on him, we've seen most of what he can do...

A realistic X4 team to me would be:
Iceman, Kitty, Rogue (hopefully if cure is temporary), Colossus, Gambit (hopefully), Angel, and Jubilee.

But they would need Wolverine or Storm to even get the project green lit.

I agree. They shouldn't overload on new characters next time. Beast may be too busy, but they still need a leader. Storm would do a good job I think.

Gambit would replace Wolverine in terms of screen time and popularity. I think a good Gambit, in terms of actors, could get the next set of films going. Of course we need Beast, Iceman, Angel, Rogue, etc...

Well in X3 Wolverine seemed much less like how he was in the first one. I think Jean even told him that Xavier 'tamed' him. Gambit could be introduced as someone quite like how Wolverine used to be, and Wolverine can be all 'been there done that'.

Introduce Gambit as a central, new character and a new villian, working with or without Magneto, it doesn't bother me. That's all X4 really needs.
I can see that after putting off including Gambit, they will make it worthwhile in the end.
