What's wrong with her fringe? MJ has a fringe.

But the turtle necks are a bit out of character for MJ. In fact, she wasn't really that much of a party girl in TAS but more of a damsel in distress.

I skipped the FF movie as well as Suicide Squad.

I skipped the "FF" and "TMNT" reboots and watched online. If a comic book movie looks like it'll suck or doesn't look a thing like the comics or what we grew up with, I ain't paying a dime for it and will pirate it or wait till it ends up FX, some premium channel or basic cable or Netflix.

Choose a black or asian somebody for Bruce Wayne, Aquaman, Iron-Man, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, Rogue, Betty Ross, for popular charatcer as Mary-Jane, its not only disapointing but scandalous. Can they make Luke Cage, Sam Wilson and Blade as white man ???

Michael C.Duncan for Kingpin and Michael B.Jordan for Human Torch, they are accustomed to that. secondaries characters like Heimdall, Ben Urich as black man ok

But studios and producers shouldnt do that heresy for popular or main characters ..!!

However, Zendaya actually plays Michelle and just rumored to play MJ. Nothing official for the moment.

The irony is Michael C.Duncan as Kingpin and Michael B.Jordan as the Human Torch were one of the better parts of their respective movies.

I think the movie will look great and it will be successful, I have faith in the production team.

But having said that, and I hate to sound negative but I am not on board with actor choices for MJ and Flash.

Most of the people here are thankfully rational but there was one post on the previous version of this thread where someone said all making MJ black would accomplish would be to ensure the movie loses money, and it was the funniest thing I'd read all morning.

OK, but as far as I know we aren't clamoring for the MJ from TAS. She wasn't adapted all that perfectly there, but she was fine. That show had hideous models for almost every character. If you want to see how most people in this thread want MJ portrayed, check out the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon.

That is pure speculation. Maybe Peter likes her before she changes, and is just pleasantly surprised when she shows up as a knockout.

Even if that's not the case, there's always the opportunity for the film to address that cliche and make Peter (and I guess the young impressionable viewers y'all are suddenly so concerned about) realize he was a *****e for not paying attention to the inside and chasing a crappy personality with a nice body.

It's a lesson many young men learn growing up as is. No reason we couldn't see that and have a MJ makeover.

I get what you're saying, but 2 of those 3 wouldn't work as white characters because they were specifically created to be black. Kingpin's whiteness doesn't define him, it isn't even a character attribute. I like seeing a Kingpin faithful to the comic visually in Netflix Daredevil, but it's not like MCD was bad or dramatically different in the role. Your comparisons are a little off base.

True, but that's an indictment on OTHER questionable choices made, not necessarily high praise for diversity.
