There's alot going on in this little pro-sParta propaganda piece. Some seem to contradict themselves more than the Bible does. Here's a few that seem to stand out the most.

1) Religion Sucks! Logic Rules!
Poor Leonidas is forced to bribe infallible religious zealots to get permission to stop even bigger religious zealots (led by an aptly titled "King Of Kings/God King") from completely wiping out his people. That would, of course, be the logical thing to do. The former religious zealots take his money but tell him he can't because they have to observe a religious holiday. Actually, it was just because the latter religious zealots paid them more.

2) America Rules! Terrorists Suck!
The badass western underdogs, united by a leader who refuses to get permission to go to war, are joined by a like-minded coalition to confront religious zealots from the east who threaten freedom.

3) Terrorists Rule! America Sucks!
A deeply traditional people who kill inferior babies make a stand against progress when the forces of globalization demand their natural resources or be obliterated.

4) White People Rule! People Of Color Suck!
You have to imagine that somewhere in the south, a Grand Wizard constantly plays back the image of ivory-skinned sPartans kicking a black man and his turbaned posse down a well in slow motion while touching himself. In any other context the movie might be considered racist but they were going for historical accuracy. EsPecially with old Sword-hands and Goat-Headed Flautist.

5) It's Okay To Be Kinda Gay As Long As The Bad Guy Is Even Gayer!
...Look, do I really need to explain this one?

6) Eugenics Rules! Disfigured People Suck!
Again, pretty obvious. Leo didn't tell Quasimodo he couldn't help, only that he couldn't help by doing something he was, in fact, physically incapable of doing. Nobody would have batted an eye if Leonidas mercy-killed a mutant who sPat in the face of their baby-killing tradition. Instead he offered Ephialtes options which just weren't good enough for the plucky hunchback and he winds up selling them out.

Anybody got anymore?

Yeaaaaaaah, I think you may be reading into things just a *bit* too much there.

7) If you want kids to grow up strong, you have to discipline the **** outta them from the time they're young; hence what all male spartans have to go through i.e 'The Agogi'.

EDIT:

Oh, I thought Ratcrawler was seriously believing the propaganda in his post. Instead, he was just naming the ridiculous propaganda that many ignorant people have created. My bad.

I'm just having a little fun with the many ways this film can be interpreted. :)

Although 300 was a successful epic action flick and its visual style was amazing, I can't disagree. But that's point of the graphic novel, which in my opinion was so great.

Besides, Persians ruled the bigger part of Asia and were very civilized people. And the way how they are portrayed in other films like Alexander, is a serious mistake and misunderstanding of the truth.
