How many people are picking up what the film was putting down?

I was shocked it was so DEEP and Marvel allowed much of the storyline in a film that people would bring their kids to see. Some folks may have dismissed as a popcorn superhero film, but the Africa/African American/colonizer themes will WAKE some folks up.

I was asking a co-worker of mine about what she thought some whites might have thought about the themes; whether they understood them at all.

For me, it's about patriots. Everyone loves wakanda but everyone knows change is coming.

Some characters are ready to embrace it, like t'challa or nakia. Other like M'baku are conservatives who are happy with the way things are and want change to be actively fought. Some want radical change like Killmonger or shuri and others want a more gradual change
