Over at the WCM.com boards, EmPiiRe x posted a link to a newly discovered website, http://www.thenewfrontiersman.net. It could be a stand alone website, but it's also possible that it it's the start of a Watchmen viral campaign. The website does look very similar to the sites involved with the Dark Knight ARG.

Either way, I'm excited for future updates.

Very cool. Virals would be great for this.

Here's for hoping it's the start of an awesome viral campaign!

isnt it a little late for a viral campaign to fire up? i mean, the movie is coming out in like 2 months.

Looks like bunk, guys. If it's to remotely resemble the format that the TDK virals took, that ain't it.

We can keep an eye out though.

I don't care, I have been without a viral for 2 months, I need this to keep me going. Project Abraham ended amost two months ago and was awesome. I need something else now. I think this is it.

Why would it though?

I'm sure there are more Viral companies/whatever than 42 entertainment.

I was going off the fact that 42 wasn't really listed on any of the domain searches. They were either WB or some anonymous titling. Most instances where an actual address, phone number, e-mail or whatever could be verified was a faux listing. The information reads like any other fan website that I've come across; TDK or otherwise. Rorshach's Journal and The Veidt Method has the same kind of information available and they were worthless.

However, after looking at PPC's site, Watchmen is listed among their promotions. Although, to this point, it's being tied to PlayStation Home functions.

i would suggest a girlfriend. or porn.

i wish they had the viral campaign when the first trailer was shown, oh well
looks great,i hope there will be more sites like this

This doesn't look like 42E's MO, but there are many viral advertising companies other than 42E, so that's not surprising. This looks pretty official, and the fact that it's Flash makes me think this is more than just some fan with photoshop.

*crosses fingers for awesome Watchmen viral*

Nice!
And if you go to http://www.novaexpress.net/ is say Coming Soon! but I don't know if it has any Watchmen relevence.

Now we'll all have to start searcing sites such as Meltdowns.com or Krystalnacht.org etc..

Oh my god.

...

Well, I hope this doesn't becomes the TDK viral campaign. That was too much. Seriously!

If it is legit, it will probably just be another way to release some extra content, or a tie in with the video game. I don't think we'll be running around various cities with clown makeup slapped on our faces again. ....Or..inkblot...makeup....

A viral would be fun for this flick..but then again it seems kind of late for them to start one now.

Loved the TDK marketing dearly, but this is way too late. It isn't building any tension, given that we've seen all we need to. TDK marketing was giving people tastes and hints of the film slowly and torturously while letting us feel like we were in Gotham City.

Now Watchmen comes out in two months, we've seen a handful of trailers, a lot of pictures, plenty of production diaries, and dozens of reports of what happens in the film that we wouldn't already figure from reading the graphic novel. Besides, the internet wasn't around in 1985, one of the reasons that the viral wouldn't let us feel like we are in the Watchmen universe.

Seems new but I am not pumped for it. The Batman viral was great - but this is suppose to be set in the 80's and not present day. I am sure I am in the minority, but that kinda takes some of the gleam here.

The best sign is that this may indicate that WB will go viral more often in the future legitimizing it. Viral Marketing will become more and more important to entertainment advertising from here on out.

I will indeed be keeping an eye on this site and would love it if a viral was to kick off from it.

I guess we should be patient until next week then! :)

Let the games begin!

I'm not sure that it's too late for a viral campaign/ARG. The mind-blowing viral done for Nine Inch Nail's Year Zero started only two months before the album's release, and finished a month after. It was far more complex than what was done for The Dark Knight and was well done, even though it did not last nearly as long as the Dark Knight ARG.

With this in mind, a viral campaign for Watchmen at this point in time is entirely doable.

Gotta say where's NOVA express? And one of my favorite graffiti in the series is the New Frontiersman's ad slogan "In your hearts you know its right" -WING
