I believe either the nano's or the piece of the white dwarf star will be embedded in Ray allowing him to shrink like the Atom in the comics.

Any other thoughts?

Whatever the situation regarding the specific effect of the explosion, I'm certain the final result will end with his ability to shrink. I expect we'll find out in the Flash season finale.

I actually don't think will know fully until "Legends of Tomorrow". It will be like when Barry appeared on Arrow. We see him go back to Central City and we see the lightning hit. We don't know what happens until the flash premiere. At best we might hear a bit about it when Arrow returns in the fall.

Ray is dead. His entire purpose was to build a super suit for super Felicity to save the day and bring the power of love and friendship to Oliver and us all. <3.

I theorize that he is dead. Hear me out. Sarah is dead. Legends of Tomorrow focuses on time travel. I feel like Rip Hunter will be pulling folks from the timeline, who would otherwise be dead/non-existent (dead Sarah, dead Ray, Dr. Stein, etc).

Or he may have just shrunk and become the Atom. :funny:

Maybe he's shrunk and stuck that way, so now he's leaving Ryan Choi a series of clues to find him.

Well the trailer reveals what happened so...........yeah. He just shrank.

I knew it! Just as I'd always hoped!

Excess energy from a first time shrinkage which becomes fixed by the time we see him again in Legends of Tomorrow
