The official thread for theories you have for things that may have beein going on in Watchmen
Here's one that I like alot that I saw on the WatchmenComicMovie forums. At the end of the book, Ozymandias questions Dr. Manhattan's faith in humanity. He says that he'll go create some. Now, on the one hand, he could have meant that he was going to go and muster some faith in humanity. On the other hand, did he mean that he would go create some humanity? If watchmen is set in an alternate dimension, What if Dr. Manhattan was going off to create the universe that we live in now? Or maybe in the Watchmen Universe in the 90s there exists a speceis of people all peacefully and apathetically living on a planet together, but they're all bald, blue, and omniscient?
Another one is that Rorschach was gay, essentially extrapolating the kindness that Dan had shown him.
One final one before I click "Submit" is that Ozymandias was perhaps jealous of Dr. Manhattan, maybe even idolizing him. He clearly has a God complex, he uses all of his TVs and his power to be as close to omniscient as he knows how to be, and was trying to recreate his teleportation capability.
What thinks all of you?
