The only way to freshen up Cena/Punk now is to reverse the face/heel dynamic.

Good title choice, it fits where things are at right now, the last bit of hope for Mania was drained from me tonight but what a way to go into another potential sabbatical, with that amazing Punk/Cena match.

You're right about Rock working some house shows and possibly some RAWs/Smackdowns. I think it's a great idea for Taker. He's been idle for a year and if he's planning on working a long match with Punk, he needs to refresh his body with that type of exertion.

I've got a simple and logical idea for that too, that makes so much sense they'd never do it.

Punk's been whining about respect, was the whole purpose of his heel turn, if he ends the streak, he'll get it. Have him win clean, and have Taker shake his hand afterward. Instant face. No more reason to complain and act heely, and the fans (half of which already want to cheer him) will go on his side if Taker gives him the sign of approval after losing to him.

Cena, in frustration and fear of being unable to put Rock away, turns heel to win. Same thing a bunch of people here, and elsewhere, have thrown out there.

Keep them apart a few months, have Cena go through the Sheamuses and Ortons while Punk works through the Shield until taking on Brock at Summerslam or Survivor Series.

Punk wins Rumble, Cena is champ, then at WM30, Mania has a real main event for the first time since like WM26.

...........But of course they'll never do that. -____-

I feel Punk should go to Smackdown and win the WHC. He and Cena could then have a unification match at next year's WM.

I considered that too, but the one thing that has me leaning against it is right now Punk is above the level of "B-show" champ, and I don't want to see him slide down the card. At least if he's working with The Shield and Lesnar and the like, he'll be in a top priority program even while away from the belt.

A change of venue might be what Punk needs. Not much else he can really do on RAW now. Going after Del Rio's title (or Ziggler's title) might be the route to go.

A face turn is what Punk needs. I think the CM Punk/Undertaker storyline is going to be about respect. CM Punk keeps "whining" about respect, Undertaker is the caretaker of respect in the federation.

Punk and Taker can have a great match at Wrestlemania, Taker wins of course, no chance in hell Punk wins, we all know that.

BUT......what if Taker puts Punk over after the match. Imagine Punk pulling a five star match out of the Dead Man. Tombstone, the pin, celebration and fireworks. But then a face off in the middle of the ring, Taker extends a hand.

Basically Rock/Hogan but with no nWo.

I am desperate to believe Cena turns heel, they have to recognize there's nowhere else after this. I mean, Cena beats Rock and stays face? Who else is there? He beat Lesnar last year. Mark Henry, Big Show......there aren't many top notch heels any more.

I can't wait to catch up on RAW. So far I enjoyed the opening segment. I wish Brock could come on top of this feud though.

I was thinking about the same thing at work today. I really want Punk to end the streak. I know some people disagree , but I think it would be a huge moment and Undertaker's career would have a decent resolution.
The match should be grueling and push both men to the limits. After Punk wins and sees Undertaker barely able to move it would be nice for him to help Taker up and offers a hand shake. That would turn Punk face and send the crowd home happy.

No way Punk ends the streak. With the way WWE has hyped it over the years, ending the streak would be the biggest thing any superstar could do. If Punk ends the streak he becomes bigger than Cena from a kayfabe perspective, and that ain't happing folks.

I agree with those who feel Punk should be going after the WHC on Smackdown...I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday morning. Punk would elevate the WHC, he would get me to watch Smackdown again (which I rarely do now...I just read the spoilers online), and since the brand extension is pretty much dead, he'd be featured regularly on Raw anyway. Perhaps it would lead to a Punk/Ziggler feud.

I'm with Foley. I did want to see them shake hands.

I want this to be a huge rivalry and have them both at Wrestlemania next year.

Good Raw, great main event, one of the best matches I've seen in a long time, but the ending completely ruined the night and showed what the entire problem with WWE is.

The show is ALL ABOUT JOHN CENA

It doesn't matter who's the champion. It doesn't matter anything. It's all about John Cena beating the bad guys of the WWE, and Michael Cole's commentary after the win made it completely clear that this Wrestlemania is all about John Cena beating all the people he couldn't beat last year in Punk and The Rock so he can have overcome all of his obstacles again.

I wouldn't even be surprised if when he becomes champion again if he gets rid of the new belt and brings back the spinner belt, since The Rock getting rid of Cena's belt is just another slight against him that must be overcome.

If Punk had to lose tonight, and let's be honest we all knew it was going to happen, I at least wanted to see him screwed by a returning Undertaker, or something. ANYTHING to make it so that the match wasn't just all about Cena beating everyone that he can't beat.

I can't ****ing wait for the New York crowd to boo the ever living crap out of Cena when he wins the title. I can only hope we have an Attitude Era crowd moment where the crowd just completely fills the ring with garbage that they've thrown at Cena in a protest of disgust. This is just pathetic at this point.

A few other random notes however:

-I don't think CM Punk should turn face. He's a good face. But I think his personality, attitude, and character work best as a heel. I'd rather Punk be heel than face.

-Am I the only one that doesn't want to see CM Punk feud with Brock Lesnar? I think the better route would be to have CM Punk and Lesnar form a stable led by Paul Heyman, and have them just wreck havoc on the joint.

-Speaking of Brock, I don't give a crap what the backstage motivations are for Triple H getting his win back or whatever, whoever wins the match, Triple H v. Brock Lesnar is looking like the best thing leading into Wrestlemania. 2 dudes who hate the **** out of each other, just beating the everliving hell out of each other. I can't believe how busted open Lesnar got tonight. Nice little flashback to the good feuds of the past, and the types of feuds that are missing in today's superstars, that we only see come Wrestlemania time when guys like Triple H or Undertaker come back.

-Why is Jack Swagger tapping out The Miz instead of getting his sorry ass sent to some god forsaken backyard wrestling federation where he belongs. If Swagger doesn't get taken out of Wrestlemania.......

Wow, what a match from Cena and Punk. I really think with the exception of Triple H and Lesnar showing up, they really are carrying Raw these days.

So, what I'd like to see at Wrestlemania? Here goes.....

    Rock vs Cena
Pretty average match, since Rocky really can't deliver like he used to. However, I'd have him go for the people's elbow to finish it, with the light's going out, and The Shield taking out The Rock. Cena recovers to find Rock out cold, and just like when Punk won the match (against Cena I think?) Cena is torn between doing the right thing, and winning..... Cena pins the Rock, and so begins the heel turn..... "I did what I had to....." etc

At next weeks Raw (4th March), Punk comes out and says Cena might beat the Rock, but he doesn't deserve it. He doesn't deserve respect. But himself, but Punk, he's going to earn it the only way he can...... He calls out Undertaker. He wants the streak.....

    Undertaker vs CM Punk
A fairly decent match, with some classic spots and moves. Both Tombstones and GTS's are hit, and Taker goes for Hells Gate..... but Punk gets to the ropes! Punk responds with the Anaconda Vice, and Taker taps. Punk wins! The streak is done! The match finishes with Punk raising Undertaker's hand, and Taker applauding Punk and the audience. This is Taker's last Mania....

    Monday Night Raw after Wrestlemania
Cena opens the show, talks about winning the title, "the champ is here..." blah blah blah. Fall out segments from Triple H vs Lesnar (Triple H won, obviously), and a lot of other stuff no one really cares about. Except, maybe Ziggler cashes in and wins. He loses AJ and Big E, tells them he doesn't need them anymore. The show closes with CM Punk coming out, telling the audience he did what he always believed he could, but never thought he would. He rattles off some of the great matches Undertaker has had, and the impact he's had on the WWE. He says he was honoured to stand toe to toe with him and be a part of history. Undertaker comes out in jeans, shirt, (not wrestling gear) and thanks the fans for everything, and the locker room too etc and goes through all that. He says his part is done now, and the future is in safe hands. The locker room empty, with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Punk, Vince, all coming to the ring to say 'good-bye', as the gong hits and the curtain comes down on arguably the greatest wrestling character/career there's ever been.

The end result? CM Punk vs John Cena for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 30.
