I have no problem with the black suit they went for in the movie, but that pic above looks ****ing sweet!!!

yes, it certainly does look cool! but i can see why they went with the 'textured' suit for film purposes (even though the pic is bad of course)

From what I saw in the book the only thing i really liked about the original black costume design brought to life were the more alien like eyes. besides that....it wasn't all that. I'm glad they went the way they did.

Vulture looks kinda cool. Hopefully they could use him for a future movie.

EDIT- This is what NewYorkerNick had to say about Vultures story.

They kept struggling to have storyline in which Vulture was connected to Peter Parker AND Spider-man. What they had going at the most was the current theme of revenge and/or forgiveness. The Vulture was put in prison because of Spiderman, so Sandman would help him escape, and the Vulture would make his wings out of objects he found. Sure yeah the revenge part may have been there... Vulture wanting revenge on Spider-man, but that wasn't good enough. It was on March 15th 2005 that they decided to drop vulture and have Venom stay.

So yeah since the theme will obviously be different in the potential fourquel, there may be a chance for Vulture. Although I'm predicting a theme of trust between the town and spider-man and I can only see either Lizard, Mysterio, Kraven, or Black Cat involved.

It wouldn't, mate. Once you have black alien goo covering a wall-crawling, web-slinging twenty-something, you can pretty much do whatever you like without worrying about things making 'sense'.

I hope some day Raimi will tell us why he didn't go with the comic design. I'm really interested in the reason. We've seen they tried, but what made them ultimately decide to stick with the classic costume?

Not liking the Vulture look with the trench coat,makes him look like Doc Ock with wings instead of tentacles.And not liking how they say that Vulture made his wings out of things that he found.Plus it looks like the young version of the Vulture,I thought Raimi liked the classic old guy version.

I like the black movie spidey costume better than that all black comic suit,they should of made the black costume in the comics look like the one in the movie.

I realise the choice of using the webs and such though I still think they could have made the Black Costume have a little more of a unique design. It's still the original Spider-Man costume coloured black, with sharper eye lens and a slightly altered Spider Emblem. I just feel they could have done a bit more to make the appearance look cooler.

I really don't feel we're getting enough of the 'darker' Spider-Man in this picture, it just seems to be a minor plot that they keep promoting.
