Why? And in what fashion?
The exclusion of dolphins and porpoises annoys me just a tad. A sperm whale more closely resembles a dolphin than it does any baleen whale (anatomically), yet it retains the title of "whale" while the dolphins and porpoises are often purposefully excluded from that category by most.

I just don't get it. It's also hard to explain to people (ALMOST as hard as explaining how something can live without a brain).

Sperm whales are big mammals that live exclusively in the water, so they call them whales. It's not different than killer whales or koala bears or the multitude of other animals with names that are slightly misleading.

As far as the lay person is concerned: Whale = big, dolphin = small, and porpoise = opposite of accident.

An orca is as much a whale as a sperm whale. I don't see why the term "killer whale" is inappropriate. That's actually what got me thinking about this....that very discussion.

Heh...

So do most strippers, doesn't mean I'm gonna stop getting lap dances. :o

But how many? Is a handful enough? Also, salted or unsalted? Shelled or with the shells?

I need details.

Never more than 5, unsalted would be best, but who cares? They're f**king prairie dogs. Shells? You hold on to the shells.....for the champagne room. :o

How about the clearly not canine Prairie Dogs?
You seem to be hung up on misnomers...that's not what I'm talking about (though they annoy me).

I'm talking about a term that could potentially be applied to all cetaceans, but is arbitrarily reserved for only a few by the same people who criticize others for using the term "killer whale" (as my most prominent and relevant example...and yes, I used to be one of those people).

I'm upset that my cousin pretty much murdered her mother, my aunt. I went to her funeral, and that was truly the first time I've cried at a funeral. I could'nt even look at my cousin. I'm more in a pissed of mood than a angry mood.

What do you mean by murdered her? Actual murder or more of a worry to death kinda deal?

My aunt was sick, she neede a doctor, and my cousin, her daughter, said she didnt want any help, and what was so bad about it was she didnt even shed a tear at the funeral. Plus, this was probably done for some money my aunt had.

That's f**ked up. My Uncle recently died under dubious circumstances as well.

My family is getting together and we're going to try to file criminal charges on her, and thank all of you who are concerned, I think I'm going to get some rest now, good night. :hrt:

I hate that I went out to a couple of Halloween stores and don't have the money to buy all the goodies that I wanted.
