Things you HATE, Volume II

I hate that they think people are stupid and some gimmick will make them buy more stuff.

I forget the company but they're offering a 4 color tv. Red, Blue, Green and Yellow!. Green+Blue = Yellow. So it's kinda redundant and pointless.
Green + Blue =/= Yellow

Yellow is a primary color.

I hate that TV's have so many ridiculous things added onto their name. (ie. 3D LED HD TV.)

I also hate that the current debate over Chris Evan's Captain America is his lack of chest hair.

You know it was only a matter of time after they debated about straps, feet, and other miniscule things I forgot about.

I hate that HLN is airing a story about a mother who shook her baby to death for interrupting her time playing Farmville on Facebook, and the reporters are spending more time talking in detail about Farmville than they are about the crime, as if it's Farmville or Facebook's fault this woman killed her baby.

Lost in the second round of playoffs. First time I've cried in like 2 years

the community has always been more communal than the other parts of the hype. There are certain subforums for certain topics and discussions and in those sub forums they can be discussed, debated, talked about in depth.

The community is kinda where you go when what you have to say doesn't really fit into that or you want to try and get to know fellow hype posters better without taking the theme-specific subforums off topic.

I like to think of it as a large crowd or convention, there's some people whose personalities come through on here like i'd imagine they would in real life. there are multitudes of different kinds of people and personalities from a million different backgrounds. Some people will clash and some people will connect.

I understand that the community part is mainly about being really communal,it just seems that in general and across the board that this place is what it has sadly come down to,too many sources of gluttony. The very unlikable kind that you would find from high school. I can let the teenagers who are under 18 get away with that here to an extent, but for the 18+ crowd? No freaking way. This place is suppose to be approachable, and the kind of mentality that I described doesn't help make this place better or even more approachable, one bit. The fact that this place has to be approachable has been a common and ongoing theme for a long time. Hence some of the particular rules that have been established long ago. I care so much because I am still really burnt out from detesting-disliking people, certain people. The kind that I can see good in.

This place has been so overmoderated the last few years that it has become more than approachable... you're just oversensitive. I'm telling you now that YOU are the one who sticks out. All these other posters, who are almost too friendly to tell you the truth, get along just fine and dandy... but YOU are the element that doesn't bond well with the others. Just sayin'.

Also, what sources of gluttony are you talking about? About 1/4 of the things you say make no sense... at all.

yeah i know. i didn't post them in any particular order. it's just absurd the way they're acting like it's this new color. RBG +Y (or Takei).

well i for one i can say for certain that i've not mistreated you or tried to make you feel unwelcome.

i can see how you can compare it to high school cliques, i can see that. some birds of a feather do flock together around here. the skype crowd, the posters who post on shh and lsp, survivor junkies, the artists, the gLeeks, etc etc. but it would be naive of me to assume that of the 20,000 ish members we do have here that all would get along or have the exact same thoughts and opinions on everything.

could you explain your examples of gluttony so i can better understand you?

(and on a side note, i remember when that user number used to be like 36k)

I hate how this place is more about getting liked by others and being their pals than just expressing how you feel about stuff. It's an excuse to single out and vilifie decent folks who aren't so much about how intelligent they are when they post on this website.
So basically, you're jealous because no-one has noticed you? Got it. But fear not, posting rants like this will get you the attention you desire.

It actually gives the television the ability to display more colors in high definition. Many more colors, actually. We're talking about televisions that can display millions of colors, so that addition is not insignificant.

Well here's hoping Dreamworks adapts Joseph and his Amazing technicolor dream coat then.

Count me in on the folk who don't buy it.

RGB, like CMYK, makes every color in the spectrum. Adding yellow is pointless since RGB MAKES yellow.

I would love to see all this stuff in the shows and movies that I'm missing because they're invisible on my inferior television screen. I'll be honest, I thought that the emperor was completely naked until my HDTV allowed me to see that he was wearing the most exquisite robes.

I hate that people think that the Incredibles needs a sequel. Excellent movie, one of the best Pixar/Disney/superhero/animated movies, but not needing a sequel.
