First of, apologies if there is already a similar thread.

So, what would you like to see in the reboot? Be it a character, a scene, a certain plot, a specific action scene, the tone of the movie, etc.

Lex-Corp, Star Labs, and a superfight such as the likes of has never been seen before.

For the First act of the film I would like for it to be all bright, cheery, and hopeful.
Let it show scenes of Superman doing his usual saves/stopping robberies etc.
The news show his routine heroics so much that the public hardly takes notice anymore. Then Brainiac arrives, and the tone goes from bright and cheery to dark and depressing as the world's computers fall under his control.

I second your suggestions GreenKToo.

I'd also like to see Lex evolve and slowly descend to villainy instead of being inherently evil. In the comics he believes he is in the right and that he is protecting people from Superman, so he has to start as a good guy who takes his obsession too far.

The way I understand it, this Superman will be established, which most likely means Lex will be as well. I fully expect to see this Lex sitting on his throne at Lex-corp with past run-ins with Superman already under his belt. Which to me says, whatever hatred he has for Superman, the reason has already happened.
Is it fear that drives Lex? jealousy? both? who knows. should be fun learning though.

I thought they were going to go with a rookie Superman. As in a Superman who has been around saving cats and blowing out fires for some time, but he hasnt had his first supervillain fight yet.

I hope that is the case, because unlike Superman's origin, modern Lex's hasnt been seen anywhere besides Smallville (and that sucked). It's the whole motivation behind what he's doing and they cant ignore that. Besides, it would give them the opportunity to keep him in the sidelines (too many Lex movies so far) while Brainiac can be the main villain. The latter's attack will make him realise that earth is becoming a battlefield for alien powers and humanity isnt properly prepared to deal with that.
In the sequel we see him build Metallo, his trademark armour and tons of weapons.

I really like your idea. I'd love to see why lex develops his rivalry with superman. Like at first maybe it's just mistrust but then after the mass destruction during his battles with brainiac it grows into outright hatred. Lex would feel like he's the only person humanity can really trust and like you said would start developing super weapons. It would also be nice to see the miltary develop a mistrust for aliens as was seen in JLU during the Cadmus arc. Bw Lex and Cadmus you could easliy develop some of supes rouges gallery.

Think I've covered my thoughts on this in a similar thread already.

Its not my idea. Its from the comics and STAS. Lex doesnt trust Superman and is afraid to leave humanity's defense on an alien demigod who could go rogue or have evil motives. That and his inferiority complex.

Superman and Lex have their own discussions like Batman and the Joker do and you need a fully fledged Lex for that. Being evil for the sake of it isnt interesting.

Go the Star Trek route. Make a sequel to Superman Returns in where Superboy Prime shows up the beginning, punches and reboots the franchise.

well i said this in other thread, i do hope even with this no full on origin deal for reboot. we do actually get to see some origins even if its just smallville life. But i want to at least have the film start out with clark's first arrival to metropolis or his first public save(with him maybe doing it in secret for a short time).

But definately want to see lexcorp. With lex head of it and is loved by the city/citizens. But helds the criminal world with an ironfirst. Which superman slowly learns lex controls and has his hand in pretty much everything. So it takes awhile for him to finally take him down.

And with lex i want to see a rise and fall in power story with him. First film we get to see who he is, second film work in his political dream. Then 3rd film he gains president position but then by end of the film superman is finally able to take him down finally.

Definately also would love to see emil hamilton and star labs come around too. So they could explain kryptonite to supes, and help with learn about lead/protection to it. And maybe help him with weapons and stuff like that. Then it could also be birth place to some foes like livewire/parasite and a few others.

Then also the government and general sam lane. We definately need to see the military play a part and see why they are against aliens/super folks. But work with them when they need it.

Then with the daily planet, have it be the last honest place for reporting that isnt controlled by lex. With a good crew on board with perry/lois/jimmy. Then also thrown in other supporting DP staffers for small/minor/cameo roles like cat/steve/ron, etc..... characters i dont know.

I dunno, its a little confusing. The article said that he was already known by Lois and others so I guess it could mean either he has just started out, or he is already established..Either way is fine by me. Just bring it on.

that superman performs multiple super tasks at the same time!!!
that superman was hit by the villains because he was protecting the innocents.

Since they are going with brainiac I definately want to see a battle with brainiac drones throughout the city so superman can actually fight something without worrying about killing it. Having just seen the iron man 2 trailer we definately need to see superman cut loose for once.

I'd like the film to start with a 007-esque opening fight or chase scene. Establish the film's action-cred right off the bat.

I'd like some well written dialogue and solid character intereaction. Give the actors something to work with. Iron Man is a perfect example of what can happen with good actors and well written scenes, Iron Man 2 looks even better. i want some of that with superman.

Things I want to see:

One scene I want to see is Superman saving a train, this could be an amazing scene.

Superman to have a huge throwdown with someone.

Mostly Superman to be the main focus of the film like Batman was in Batman Begins

Lexcorp Lex

I want to see landings and take-offs with a real, human, non-CG Superman. Y'know, old school. I could understand using a CG character for some of the flying, but there's something about seeing the real man take off and touch down that is so, so much more effective.

I kind of disagree. It just depends on the situation. If he's in the middle of battle, lands quickly then takes off i want to see a really fast/powerful take off like this :

But if he's flying casually or landing casually then sure use a human on wires.

If they have to use CGI can't they use motion capture for at least the face? Plus I wouldn't mind Brandon Routh back. ;)

Agreed, to a certain extent. I should have said, I want real human/wire work for scenes that could best utilize it, which would likely be non-action scenes. If he does need to take off in a hurry, though, I'd much rather they do (at least once) some awesome camera movement that actually flies up with him after lift-off. So, instead of him going WHOOSH and becoming a blurred splotch flying up into the distance (a la Heroes or Smallville), the camera/audience would actually fly up with him.

When it comes to the flying, I want audiences to feel as much a part of it as possible. I was shocked and disappointed at the flying in Superman Returns. Except for some really good work in the plane rescue, the flights felt very standard, and thus pretty bland.

Great Daily Planet interaction.
Clark doing actual investigative work.
Amazing flight sequences.
Atleast one good aerial battle.

I agree, they really do need to do something that will make the flying stand out. So far for me the most fun i've had "flying" with a character has been iron man.

Lois and Clark need to have chemistry and their relationship/rivalry needs to be funny.

I would like to see the reaction of the people of Metropolis to the first appearance of Superman. It would be cool if Metropolitans were made important characters in the story a la Gothamites in TDK.

Things I want to see..

At least one iconic shirt rip.
A huge throwdown with a being as strong as Superman.
Ma and Pa Kent being alive and well.

and i'm with Zorex on the flying.

Since we re talking about flying and landings, i loved how Superman landed on the K island with all his force, causing cracks to it. Ironman landed in an equally badass way in Afganistan. Its the "i am here to kick your ass" type of landing.

The only thing i'd change in Superman's case is have his eyes flare up red, which is something he often does in the comics when he's angry.
