THE RESULT all of Australia has been waiting for is in.

Big Wendell the psychic croc, while certainly taking a while to choose, favoured Tony Abbott to take out the election on Saturday.

In round one, the 5.5m, 800kg saltie from Crocosaurus Cove knocked Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's picture to the ground, to leave Mr Abbott standing.

There were mixed thoughts as to whether that was a draw or a reflection of Saturday's decision.

But after setting up again, he eventually took a bite out of the Opposition Leader.

There's a video in the link.

Brilliant! People wanted a sequel to sharknado, what about wendell the psychic crocodile?

So would you ever trust an election to a psychic crocodile?

Government is a necessity, even if politicians themselves are worthless. That said this is about as valid as those towns who elect animals as mayors. Though they might have something with that.

So it's like Groundhogs Day but they choose who is elected?

A psychic Crocodile? sounds like a sci-fi movie.

Reminds me of one of the villains from the fist sly cooper game.

Really they elect animals as mayors? I like how we the supposed "civilized" nations, call the Indians and the indigenous tribes in the Amazon and Africa, primitive and superstitious. :whatever:

I would love to live in a town where the Mayor is a Crocodile.

The animal mayors are almost always a ceremonial or figurehead role and have no actual power. There was a story recently about the cat who is mayor of an Alaskan town who was badly mauled by a dog. He's still alive as far as I know and mayor for 16 years because no one liked the human prospective choices.

This makes the most sense out of anything I've heard in the last year.

I had a really bad day today. In all honesty, possibly the worst, most embarrassing day of my life. But it's things like this, that just put a smile on my face

I'm glad I helped out :yay: don't worry, things seem bad now but if you keep going you'll find out they actually weren't so bad.

A crocodile mayor wouldn't be bad but he would have to wear a top hat all the time

Human idiocy at its finest
It's enough that the concept of politics is futile by its nature, but to engage animals in election games, is stupidity to the infinite.

Lighten up.

Anyway, as an Aussie, I'm looking forward to casting my vote tomorrow. I haven't decided if I'll have a last minute consultation with the croc, but we'll see.

You DO realize that this isn't serious, right? It's people having a bit of fun with the election process.

Gee guys, obviously I know that this isn't a serious election process. But it is exactly this attempt of "fun" stunts and joking from the political figures that all it aims for is to improve their public profile.

The world doesn't get better with jokes from politicians who wear expensive suits and smile in front of the TV. Nor with cheap publicity stunts that all they do is prove the point that politics are full of charlatans that don't do anything meaningful or contribute in an essential way for society.

Sigh. It's not the politicians, but the park that houses the croc that handles this thing. If anything, it's nothing more than a marketing ploy to get people to come to the park, like a commercialized groundhogs day here in the states.

Still if the park organized all of this, the politicians should refuse participating in this kind of useless "parades" that is if they had a sense of dignity and seriousness.

I haven't seen any article that mentions politicians taking part in this. How could they outside of standing around and watching with everyone else? They don't even use real pictures of the candidates. I fail to see how this a goofy little satire of the election process could affect anyone's dignity or the election as a whole, especially in a way that justifies your vitriol.
