ROFL... Is this going to end?

http://www.megagames.com/news/html/console/ps3secrethardwarerevealed.shtml

In conclusion, we have a very reliable source that claims Sony will have a PS3 peripheral which will recognize a user and his entire environment as well as his movements and will incorporate them into useful, in-console actions. The applications of this tech to gaming are obvious and if this story is proved right, Sony may yet manage to steal Nintendo's thunder in this generation of the console wars.

I POSTED THAT SOMEWHERE LAST WEEK, BUT I DON'T REMEMBER WHERE.

Im always posting things that you have already posted.

Hahah but I made a thread about that, Sony's Secret weapon:)

good luck with that, since nintendo's controllers are patented. so all in all they really cant duplicate the same usage and the same characteristics, for that to happened sony will have to go beyond what nintendo's controller can do. and considering nintendo has been working on the remote for a very long time and still finalizing it. good luck on sony's "secret weapon", expect alot of bugs/glitches from it.

People need to realize that everyone steals from everyone in this industry, just like Microsoft is stealling Eyetoy from Sony. Anyway this thing is the rumored Eyetoy 2.

Not to defend Microsoft or anything, but from everything I've read about the camera it basically does 2 things

1. Is a webcam for the 360, which can be used for chat or sending images
2. Has a program built in which allows you to map your face in-game in select games.

The Live Camera, basically, is a specialized webcam. I have yet to see the Eyetoy do this.

I can't wait to take pictures of my ass hole and map it to my characters face online.

1) Is software a software implementation, and Sony alreayd said they'd be using Eyetoy for similar things online before the 360 camera
2) You can also do that with select PS2 games
3) Microsofts 'gesture tech' is nothing special. The Eyetoy has had that for a long time.

You cant :( The software wont map an image to a face model unless it can pinpoint a series of facial details.

my penis kind of looks like a face.

i'll just lie about the facial points. Ball number 1= eye 1. Ball number 2=eye 2. Head= chin/mouth, etc.

1. Using a webcam as a webcam? Seriously, stop consistantly defending everything Sony does for a second, and think about that for a minute. Sony got the bright idea, this generation, to turn their CAMERA product into a functioning device that has been for computers for years. Yeah, Sony really innovated that idea.

2. Im interested to know what games #2 does that with. As well, I'd like to know if it does it to the same degree as what the Live Camera will do, with geometrically applying the picture to the facial model. I own an eyetoy, and nowhere in the manual did it describe that ability.

3. Microsofts method, JUST LIKE Sony's new method, is far more refined than the PS2 Eyetoy.

Being an owner of one, I can attest to how akward and poorly the Eyetoy performed. When in the RIGHT environment, it was a good idea. It didn't impress me though that I needed to have a frontal light source, stand behind a solid color without any change in color pallette behind me, and could not have a window, even with the blinds shut, in proximity of the cam or else it would be offset. It was a great idea, and I was wholeheartedly let down with how difficult it was to get to work.

That is not even remotely close to how it operates.

Isn't that the same thing as mapping B.Affleck's face... LOL
So sony wants to turn the PS3 into the WiiStation 3...60?

All this crap is crap to me.
Good game on the screen, contoller in my hand.
Even that rumble crap is crap.
"OOOOOOHhhh...on-screen I just blew up the villains island, and...I feel a faint vibration in the palms of my HANDS! How imMERSIVE!!"

Hahahaha
