Between a speech by Peter Dille, Sony Computer Entertainment America's senior VP of marketing, and a Sony representative both indicating MotorStorm would debut in the US at 60 frames per second and supporting 1080p resolutions, the Internet's been ablaze with speculation about the off-road racer. Too bad it's all for nothing, as SCEA told 1UP that MotorStorm is most definitely 30fps and remains at a HD resolution of 720p. HD is new concept for gaming, so the mistake isn't a surprise but certainly a disappointment to many with high-end televisions. According to Sony, people "accidentally got caught up in the greater context of his [Dille] point which is that we currently do have (and will be creating much more) content that does run at 1080p and 60fps for PS3."

Interesting news...

not a big deal... i'd prefer 1080p, but it's a small difference, and even just the demo at the kiosks looks amazing.

You didn't predict global warming and the destruction of the earth, did'ja?!

No, you didn't! Gore > You. :p

I had to watch that movie for class today :down

Not believing in global warming is for neocons, you aren't a neocon are you farmerfan? :csad: :o

Not believing in global warming, when the globe is indeed warming, is just a little bit silly.

It's farmerfran Z, but you get points for trying. :oldrazz:

I never said I don't believe in it, I do... it's just, I can't stand Al Gore. :o

I don't believe in global warming as people think of it. Mainly because the whole "glaciers actually growing in size in Greenland" thing. And I'm a moderate, as well.

More than likely, we're actually entering into a new ice age instead of a period of unbridled warmth. I just think saying "global warming" is a natural disaster pushed along by humanity is ******ed. And believe me, it is. The global weather goes in cycles, regardless of outside interference.

The movie "The Day After Tomorrow" has been right on some things...

Like the buoys failing (in the movie) happened a year or two ago.

I've no doubt that global weather goes in cycles, but it's a little narrow-minded to suggest 6 billion people have no impact on that whatsoever.

I think global warming is a possibility, but I will say it seems there are less and less snow days where I live every year. Only 23 now, so about 5 years ago I remember having a full week out of school due to a snow storm. About 3 years ago we had maybe 5 days of snow inbetween Nov-Feb. Last year we had 2 full days. This winter we had 1 kinda snow day in Dec that melted before noon, and then had 10 mins of snowing 2 days ago that melted almost as soon as it ended. Prob nothing to do with global warming, but just frustrating because it used to snow like crazy, and it never happens anymore :(.

It has *some* impact, but it is insignificant. Having 10 billion people isn't going to change anything. The earth will do as the earth has done for millenia, because the earth is something that is greater than the rumblings of 6 billion people.

So, yeah, this is a perfectly logical discussion in a thread about Motorstorm.

Not that I care

Yes, it is. Didn't you notice the "Storm" part of MotorStorm. Which blizzards are storms, which would only happen in.. THE NEXT ICE AGE!

I don't think the huge amounts of C02 being generated by humans is having no effect on the long term climate cycles of the earth. Heck Co2 levels are higher now then any point they've been in the past 650 000 years growing at something like 200 tims faster then anything we've been able to descern happened in the past, it's not like there are more volcanos erupting now as compared to previous periods.
