Arkansas police continue to search for two suspects in the shooting death of a Salvation Army major on Christmas Eve.
Salvation Army Major Philip Wise was killed outside the organization’s community center in North Little Rock, Arkansas as his three young children looked on.
Wise had worked for the Salvation Army for 16 years and had been at the Little Rock location for 3 years.
"He was so important to that community," North Little Rock Police Department spokesman Sgt. Terry Kuykendall told FoxNews.com.
"This has been a tremendous blow to (them)."
Thanks to private citizens' donations, police are offering a reward of up to $4,000 for any information leading to the suspects' arrests.
The suspects are described as two African-American males and are believed to be 'armed with handguns.' Police are following up on leads, but are asking the public to help them by contacting them with any bit of information they may have.
Police said the suspects were last seen running on foot towards a government-funding housing community in the area.
One co-worker described Wise as a "big, old teddy bear" who had a passion for music, Kuykendall told FoxNews.com. Wise was well-known in the community for his work with disadvantaged children.
"Our entire community is saddened by this horrible crime," said North Little Rock Police Department Chief Danny Bradley, according to Todaysthv.com.
"Investigators will be working through the weekend on this case and we'll have a relentless effort to try and find the people who committed this horrible crime."
Arkansas police said two men accosted Philip Wise and his children — ages, 4, 6 and 8 — about 4 p.m. Thursday. He says one man pulled a gun, demanded money and then shot Wise.
Wise's wife, Cindy, also a major in the Salvation Army, was inside the center and called 911, but he died on the scene.
Police said they don't know what the motive was for the shooting.
A memorial fund will be set up for the Wise family on Monday. The Salvation Army told the Arkansas Democrat Gazette that any donations made in Wise’s name will go toward a music program at the organization’s summer camp.
Police are asking the public to contact them at (501) 758-1234 with any information that might help lead them to the suspects.

Just read this story on FoxNews. Realyl sad given the circumstances. I hope whomever did this get's brought to justice.

I hope these pieces of garbage are caught. What a shame a man trying to do good and this is how he's treated.Wait a minute not only do I hope they're caught but i hope they try to put up a fight and are dealt with in a desevering manner

I am not a fan of any story from Fox News, so I suspect it may be a little biased. But if the story is in fact valid, then hopefully they're brought to justice.

Damn. I say beat the guilty to death with giant, comedy sized fish. All the way

I'm not denying that Fox is largely a biased news source, but where exactly is there potential bias in this short article about a Salvation Army employee getting shot?

Even slanted sources like Fox and CNBC are able to report straight news reports without bias quite a bit.

Sure...... it's bad because it has a bias
It's not like other News sources don't have a bias.........Oh, wait.Fox's bias is Conservative and the other sources are liberally biased.

Doesn't matter. If you are a burger joint and you put a little bit of **** in all your burgers pretty soon people are going to stop buying your burgers even if there's no **** in them.

Almost all newspapers, stations ect are bias its just Fox often over steps bias and heads straight into propoganda so laughable you can't take what they say seriously.

Anyway hope they catch the dudes.

Bias is only bad when it's conservative.

Anyway, I don't really know what to say except that I hope they catch the assailants. Sad story for sad times. :(

.
The only reason you're saying that is because The bias is conservative.
It's not like, you know, the BBC (and other mainstream news sources) isn't so biased about Israel that, no matter what, they paint her as a murdering sadist.

Bias is only bad when it's conservative.
So you want to force everybody to be a liberal? Seriously?
You're either joking or The secret love child of Hitler and Saddam.

That's a bit harsh, don't you think? Also, why on Earth would you associate those two names with liberal views? If anything, they were extreme conservatives.

Mainly the fact that they were control freaks.

Being a liberal makes you a control freak??? I think you need to reread the definition.
My statement had nothing to do with Liberalism directly. I merely wish to say that if Katie was not joking she would be a control freak by forcing liberal views on others. I did not mean to imply that all liberals are control freaks.

Yes, you are. If you are conservative in today's world, you are in fact, stupid and out of date.

And why would you even need to say anything about anyone being liberal? Why did that HAVE to come up? Terry said nothing about Fox News being conservative or it being wrong. He just simply said that they can and in fact are most of the time bias.

Why would someone read/watch Fox News for "news"? Or most tv media news for that matter...

I can't find a non-Christian site online with this article.

I found the CNN article but they all seemed to be from specifically Christian networks or Fox networks.

There seems to have been a basic story from the Associated Press being used by various news outlets (shown as a source where used).

They give out ranks in the Salvation Army?

Yeah, I learned that on an episode of Quantum Leap.
