Just because someone's your President, doesn't mean you need to see him as your President and bow down to him. Trump will never be my President. Only a roadblock.

sounds like you are advocating willing denial of reality

i guess that's the first stage of grief so i'll let you get through that

I like how people are showing their true faces now that the election is over.

Not denial at all. He runs the country, doesn't mean I have to like him or respect him or bow down to him. "But, wha? That doesn't make sense. He's your leader!" The British were our first leaders, lets ask the founding fathers if they ever saw them as such or just as obstacles to get around to ensure a protected and secured country for a unified people.

As long as Trump sticks out of bigotry, all right - I'll let him slide. The second he steps into it or the second hate crime escalates and he acts like nothing's going on showing his true colors. Yeah, I'll go on the offensive. I don't respect bullies. If he starts more than just talking like one, I'm going to raise my voice and picket and do anything I can about it. I don't believe in laying down while someone's kicking you and everything you believe in. To me, that's not being a good American - not even remotely, that's being a coward. Note I'm not saying violence back if anyone says Gandhi - Gandhi acted. I'm talking inaction and apathy. Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.

the founding fathers did see parliament as their leaders, hence why they were upset about having no representation

i don't think you have to like him or respect him (i sure as hell don't), i'm just making light of the fact that the #notmypresident hashtag really doesn't make sense and sounds a lot more like the first stage of grief than any kind of real protest

Leaders to get out from under. #notmypresident is just something for people to get behind, to raise their voice as a collective unit. So is the rally at this point, especially the rally. It's a warning to Trump that if he does anything - we're here, we'll be watching, and we will not go down without a fight. In short, it's not grief at all - it's building unity. Strength is found in unity.

man, would have been nice for this movement to raise its voice as a collective unit yesterday at the polls

then trump might actually not be your president

Yesterday was too late and everyone or most thought we were safe. I had no idea it would fall backwards and this fast.

Oh jeez, for a second there i thought this was the Election Thread :o

It did. Hillary won the popular vote. Unfortunately the EC undermined that thanks partly to poor turnout and third party voters that helped Trump. So this is the situation we are in. All we can do now is push back against the bad for the next four years.

Just one minute until I beat your ass.

Grab Jokes.

Whoa whoa whoa.... You know good and damn well NO ONE is beating jokes ass until I get the camera set up and can drink beer while watching in complete happiness.

Where is the one they call Reek? I demand he flood the lounge with puppies so that we may distract ourselves from this new grim reality starting to befall us!
I actually put the deposit down on the aussie today :D
i blame obama
That's the attitude I'm looking for!

I just learned today that Elvis was a huge fan of Captain Marvel Jr. and based his look on him. That's kind of awesome.

Everything's gonna turn into that...

Let's see our movies and shows this year have:

1) Superhero movies warned us about a civil war between two sides of good guys manipulated by an evil entity. Two of them being a psychopathic with a power ego complex and one of them being a billionaire.
2) In alternate reality Supergirl, a woman is President. Expect may films and shows to be depicting this having been built with Hillary in mind.
3) Oliver Queen is running for mayor, now that's a mayor I'd love to have especially right now. "Donald Trump, you have failed this country!"
4) Penguin is Mayor, Gotham has been taken over by the nuthouse.
5) 'Designated Survivor' about people up in arms about who the President is.
6) A group of minorities banding together to defeat an evil empire. Star Wars is about to feel like a galaxy right, right here no matter the story you turn to.

This list could really keep on going and going... it's gonna be everywhere you look.

It's funny seeing the ignorant trump supporters brag... (like my dad)... He was saying on the phone today... "306 electoral votes! he destroyed her!" i said "youve never followed an election before have you?" and told him about Obamas numbers in 2008 (360+ EC's)...

Speechless.

The letters in red and the letters in blue are contradictory.

Trump was the least qualified candidate ever nominated by a major party for the presidency. Come January, he will become the worst president in American history, and a dangerously unstable player on the world stage.

And the decimated Democrats, a minority in both House and Senate, do not have the power to hinder him.

Over the next four years, our problems are going to get much, much worse.

Winter is coming. I told you so.

George R.R. Martin

Nah... he'd probably be all #SibelKekilli2020

Poor turnout does not negate the millions that voted against him and his ideas on election day nor the people that are still against him and his ideas. So no they are not contradictory.
