McG is in negotiations to direct romantic comedy This Means War for Twentieth Century Fox.

Bradley Cooper and Reese Witherspoon are attached to star in the story of two best friends, inseparable since childhood, who fall in love with the same woman (Witherspoon). The two men's bond disintegrates and their ensuing battle escalates to mammoth proportions, with New York City demolished in their wake.

I was pretty much feeling ":sleepy:" until I got to the bolded part. :woot:

Can we do this without filming it?

McG? This Means....S**t

i on the other hand liked hes comedy action movies.i also liked Chuck.

I still will defend Charlies Angels as I felt it did what it was trying to do well. This idea is way more up his alley than Terminator.

Ditto. And while i loathe the Charlie Angels movies , i did like/love Terminator:Salvation. I thought the overall direction was great.
And interesting tidit in the THR's article :
The move seems to get the long-gestating project on track. The studio picked up the script in 1998, with the project seeing its share of producers, directors (including Gore Verbinski) and stars (Martin Lawrence) come and go.

I wonder why the the project was in development hell for such a long time AND also am very curious to see how they will demolish NY .

Agreed.

Just because TS wasn't all that good I will still give McG another chance or two. Like you said, this kind of film could be more up his alley. Sounds kind of interesting and I can't to see a trailer.

exactly...the man never claimed that charlies angels was the bestest action movie ever and would redefine the genre...that and he's given me "Supernatural" so I'd check this out

no he didnt. but 5 years later he lied almost every month about terminator salvation. fact

what? :o

I didn't follow the development of TS too much so I wouldn't know

While that is true I'm still going to give him a chance with this. It's not a sequel to a franchise that has a large fanbase so he can pretty much do whatever he wants with it.

i think he guy knows how to combine action and comedy. i will watch it

I know that there was a lot of stuff he wanted to put in, but was told by the studio and legal that he couldn't...but like someone said, he is good at mixing comedy with over the top action

From what I can remember he also exaggerated some things to get the fans hyped up.

He had said something along the lines that Christian Bale told him he would only do the movie if the script was so good that it would entertain an audience if it was just him and the cast on an empty stage.

That turned out to be something McG made or up really expanded on. I thought it was true at first but a number of fans that followed everything about that movie told me otherwise.

Maybe this sort of stuff is more suited to McG. Hey buddy, do your thing..just stay the hell away from anything important. :yay:

So let me get this straight... two guys blow up NYC for some ass? These are the kinds of ridiculous premises that suit McG. Now make the cheeziest, senseless movie yet and you will have a block buster.
