yeah. i know. haha. this still isn't confirmation no matter what comparisons you want to use.

you have to realize that Yahoo! had to put high school. it was said in the beginning that it was high school. That is confirmed. The rumor was that it was changing to college. Restating confirmed information on the basis that the rumor has been neither debunked nor confirmed does not debunk the rumor.

Actually The Hollywood Reporter said this in their original article the other day and THR tends to be VERY credible so for now,yes it is still in high school.

once again.

Maybe not but the college rumor was started by HitFix who can be credible sometimes and wrong other times

Anyway,I wouldnt mind the college but I would prefer it being kept in high school

I prefer high school but freshmen in college is just as good to me.

College makes more sense. Peter wasn't even in high school for that long in the comics.

And people are still *****ing about Garfield being too old. We'll never hear the end of it if it takes place in high school.

A 27 year old playing a high schooler...meh. And then the third film comes around and he is 36 and still in high school or just starting college...bigger meh.

It will be okay if like the first Spider-Man he is in High School for just a bit to establish his origin. I am happy with Garfield playing a college kid but I am not happy with him playing a 16-17 year old teenager.

In you're face nay-sayers!

I am confused...I could have sworn you thought Tobey looked way too old to be playing a college kid. Oh wait, you did.

Yeah, I also don't like the idea of a 27-year-old playing a HS kid. They should have just cast Josh Hutcherson with Emma Roberts as Gwen.

This

or just someone else age appropriate. Still Garfield probably will put up a good performance.

But didnt Marvel say in their own press release that it was rewritten for college? Until I get official confirmation I'll be under the assumption that its college

if this movie is indeed still set in HS.....then I'd seriously have to question the wisdom and logic of this whole reboot......and the decision to cast Garfield as Peter.

If it's in HS, then they should have cast Josh Hutcherson, or some other young actor that would be more age appropriate. Same with the rest of the cast. A younger cast can grow with roles over the course of several films, like the Harry Potter cast.

Casting a 26/27 year old to play a HS student......well.....isn't that exactly what they did with Tobey? And wasn't one of the "problems" or "complaints" about Tobey that he was starting to show his age in the sequels? Well, aren't you going to be running into the same problem with Garfield?

Tobey was at least shorter in stature, so he could at least pass for a HSer. Garfield is taller and has a more "mature" look to him. I could see him as a college freshman....but as a HS student....not so much.....

Garfield doesn't even look 26. I first thought he was 20 or 22 or so when I saw his picture.

He looks young twenties yes...teenager, no. If this is a trilogy then in 6 years when they start filming the third movie, he is going to be in the mid 30's. If they do a 4th, then he will be nearly 40.

They made three Spider-Man films in five years. Which means they are capable of doing that again as well if it ever happens. So Garfield will be in his mid 30's by the time the third comes out.

Personally, I think Garfield looks like a teenager. He easily looks like he could fit into a senior class at my school.

Do something like what they did with Batman Begins. Show scenes when he was in high school getting bit and how it started or something like that.. But set him in college as present day spider-man.

And look how much Tobey aged. And look how Kirsten Dunst went from a some-what attractive chick to a washed-up alcoholic. Just keep in mind that Andrew Garfield is 27 NOW. He'll be 29 when the film is released in 2012. By comparison, Tobey Maguire was 27 when the first movie was RELEASED. And he was 29 when the second film was released. So, Tobey got to do two Spider-Man movies in his `20s. Andrew Garfield is only gonna do one. So, basically, we have replaced Tobey Maguire with someone older.

Garfield still looks like he could be 20-22. tobey looked his age. garfield doesn't, he looks younger. there are pictures of him on the official thread of him that make him look amazingly younger.

Tobey looked fine in Spider-Man 1...time for some reasons makes people look older!

I bought Michael Jackson's hyperbaric chamber in his fire sale...SUCK IT!
