There is something I don't get which is why doesn't Loki look a Frost Giant at all when that's what he is? There just doesn't seem to be a hint of that coming from him on the outside, and about the word Midgard people could understand what Thor was talking about if a question popped in the movie.

He's somewhat of a mutant. Born looking like an asgardian, which shamed his father into abandoning him.

The giants don't always look blue and frosty. Back in the olden days, only the original frost giant, Ymir, looked that way. The others just looked like giant humans, so Loki's only difference from the rest of them was that he was a runt who only grew to be about the size of the gods. Different artists drew different interpretations of the giants so that they now come in all colors and sizes. Most recently, Olivier Coipel came up with a good compromise in his and JMS' run on the comic: Loki's tribe of giants are bluish-white with lots of tribal tattoos. Loki was born a runt and he was still very pale, almost albino, but with a slightly pinkish tone instead of the giants' bluish one. He had tribal tattoos on his bald head as a child but, after being taken into the Asgardians' culture, he grew his hair out to cover them up. (Coincidentally, his tattoos looked much like flat versions of the horns he would later take to wearing on his helmets.)

And if all else fails, just remember that Loki's also a shapeshifter, so he can look however he wants to look. :)

I wonder if Ymir is gonna be much larger than the rest of the Frost Giants in "Thor"

It all makes sense now, thanks! I forgot that Loki was a shape shifter and that the Frost Giants had tribeish tattoos on their heads.

The saddest thing is that in the comments section, there are fools trying to side with the racists, because they don't agree with the casting. That's not the point.

This is one of the rare times when I would think nerds would overcome their differences and rally against the hate, but they always disappoint me with their odd behavior.

Has Ymir been confirmed to appear in this movie? If not he should definitely be in a sequel. A Thor vs Ymir battle would be all kinds of badass!

Ooooh, sweet! Can't wait to see him on the big screen. It looks as if we'll see an action scene or two in Asgard, I assume a battle with Ymir will be there.

Yep since 60% of the movie will be spent on Asgard & 40% will be spent on Earth

    ^^^ Hilarious!!!

Anyways, it's sad to see such a big fuss over "one" black man. It's even worse that they complain about an asian person playing Hogun, who was actually somewhat "asian" in the comics. (face palm)
