Well as far as speculation for villains go, they're kinda a no brainer.

Jason Momoa("Conan The Barbarian") could play either The Executioner or Hercules and duke it out with Thor!

hell, given the the Rock "Scorpion King" wants to duke it out with Thor on the screen, let's see if there's a character in the Thor universe who he could play that could challenge Thor physically.haha

Whoaaaaa - I'm going for Hercules based on that pic. In fact, that's the look I'd like Herc to sport if he featured in the sequel.

Look at that pic and imagine him standing next to a wigged and bearded Hemsworth........awesome. How do the two guys match up physically - are they similiar? (you know, like Thor and Herc are)

I think it's to early for Herc to appear in a Thor film, I say save him for a liitle later in the series like Thor 3 or 4.

The Asgardian culture and the Asgardians themselves still could use alot more exploring and delving into.

The Rock could potentially be pretty awesome as the Executioner or maybe Ares, both rivals to Thor who've fought him numerous times. I would love to see that. Especially Ares. Imagine the Rock with a mohawk and a goatee taking a giant sword to Thor. :hehe:

Thor vs Conan? Are they serious, he's just a freakin' human (albeit highly skilled).

I don't know how this managed to slip past my radar all these years, well I'll be.

My brother ebay'd that comic a few weeks ago, that one and Conan vs Wolverine. Pretty good reads.

Was Thor de-powered or something, because that shouldn't even be a fight.

I'll be honest, the Villains aren't a big issue for me at this point, I'm just happy we'll be seeing a sequel to Thor.

^^^ I know what you mean, but I'm pretty excited for the villains as well, most people seem to be more excited about Enchantress but I'm more excited for Executioner.

He's always been one of my favorites, plus he has an axe that projects fire and ice :woot:.

Personally, I think there are enough Asgardians they haven't paid enough attention to (like Balder), and there's no reason why they should introduce a Greek god into the mythology. If they have Hercules in the Thor sequel, it'd open a whole can of worms. People will be wondering where other Olympians are.

I agree with BigThor and yourself... It would muddy things up, we've barely scratch the surface of Asgard.
Bring on Ulik and Mangog! Enchantress and the Executioner! Bloodaxe, Kurse, or even the Radioactive Man could be used before we start incorporating the different Pantheons.

You can see the forced perspective at work in this picture.
