I'm annoyed that the damn pirates are going to knock it off the top spot.

I loved the first one but come on all ready.....#4?? AND the last one sucked??

Its time to let it go. I am boycotting it in theaters.

I'm going to see Thor again to fight the good fight, futile as it may be.

You like a week to late my friend, that's already been posted on this thread.

I really hope they don't aim for 2013. Plus, I don't think Hemsworth wants to do another Thor movie right after The Avengers. I though Hemsworth wanted to take a break from Thor after The Avengers.

Probably does, but I think either Thor 2 or Cap 2 will end up coming out in 2013 (unless Ant-Man or Dr. Strange get up and moving fast). Marvel does need a 2nd film to go with IM3 in 2013. While a film like Ant-Man/Dr. Strange may materialize as that, I think Thor 2 or Cap 2 is more likely.

I'd rather they not rush a sequel out and get a downgrade (like IM2 was for IM1), but I think it is likely to happen.

Yeah I wouldn't mind a little wait for Thor 3 since we get to SEE Thor 3 years in a row anyway.
I'm beginning to wonder if we'll keep all the actors anyway with Avengers more than likely being a multiple Movie series too.

Marvel should learn from Iron Man 2 and give their sequels a natural 3 year window. Big budget movies need at least 3 years between movies in order to get a good quality sequel.

And three straight years of the same character is overkill. I just believe that Marvel would be stupid to give a sequel to any of the big 3.

They should use 2013, if the Avengers is a success, to open up their cinematic universe even more, as interest in Marvel will only skyrocket, and with that momentum, they can introduce more character to make popular.

I don't really Blame him tho. RDJ's my age and I'm DAMNED impressed he's gone THIS far.
I mean look, he's been in what 4 Marvel films and few more in the future as far as we know (praying he stays for at least IM3 after Avengers.)

We already know IM3 is a lock for 2013, so that kind of takes not doing anything with the big 3 off the table already. Unless Ant-Man or Dr. Strange get greenlit in the near future, I don't see anyway the other 2013 movie is not a sequel to either Cap or Thor. I'd rather wait on a good sequel than see a rushed sequel (ala IM2), but I am just being realistic.

Concept art of Asgard here: http://conceptartworld.com/?p=7285

Interesting details include Thor's coronation originally taking place on top of one of the floating structures:

A bird (or should I say raven)'s eye view of Asgard:

A more desert-like environment for Thor and his friends to ride through:

Statues guarding the entrance to the palace:

    Heimdall sword concepts:

Jotunheim was to be the ring world of the comics as opposed to a planet.

There's more of Odin's Vault and Jotunheim as well. Frankly Asgard looks even more spectacular than it did on screen, but I think if they rendered that on screen the effects companies may have blown up a few computers.

I ought to bring up this Odin and Slepnir concept:

I like this helmet more than the finalised ones, it explains the look of Loki and Thor's helmets, like a reverse of the ancient Egyptian crown, which was actually a combination of crowns of the North and South Kingdoms.

That is some incredible art, can someone please explain to me what this ring world is all about? So Jotunheim is just a bunch of floating ice chunks, these creatures don't eat or dwell anywhere, they just umm... Chill out?

yeah, In the comics Jotunheim is supposed to surround Earth but WAY past our moon distance wise.
Remember the one scene where Thor and the Warriors III are all running from the Frost Beast and the Frost beast falls through the ground? If you look close enough you can SEE the Frost beast following from the UNDER side of where it fell through.

Just noticed the beast Odin rides has 8 legs! Did it have 8 limbs in the movie?! Because I didn't notice if it did lol.
