Thor: Ragnarok The Official News and Speculation Thread - Part 10

At this point I would just like to see more of Skurge, Loki, Valkyrie, Odin, Heimdall, and even Surtur but not Thor or Hulk.

Save their big moments for the film.

Where did you book yours? I think Odeon was the only chain that were selling them earlier, but they seem to have stopped now, I don't know if they released them too early by mistake or something. I don't have an Odeon near me so will have to wait a bit longer it seems. Meanwhile I'm camping out at the Cineworld website and obsessively refreshing the page until they go on sale there. :cwink: Get me in that 9am showing, damn it.

I booked them at Odeon, yes, and the weirdest thing happened. After I booked them, all the movie screenings have magically disappeared from Odeon's website for any cinema.

I guess I have booked them at a random moment when they were visible and probably just released. I am now a little bit worried if they are still legit and if the screening might be changed or removed...

I wish loki could use his ice powers too like thor using lightning

I like the cover art on those!

Not sure if this got posted (apologies if it has) but apparently "Surtur's dragon" from Thor: Ragnarok has been added to the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout ride as part of its Halloween overlay:

Okay, that thing looks nothing like either Fin Fang Foom or the Midgard Serpent. :hehe:

Only a image of "Surtur's dragon" was posted before. Really cool to see it in motion and as i said previously that beast looks insane. The fire inside of the beast is like burning from the inside out and we can actually see the fire of flowing through it's body. By the looks of it, it doesn't have wings... it has four legs and it moves like a goat/dog... the you have the horns, the catfish look, the teeth... Insane look.

I found some information that may interest you on Twitter. ODEON:
The tickets went on sale briefly yesterday incorrectly, but your tickets are still booked so you don't need to worry, Gemma! :) - Toby

Yeah, definitely seems like a new creature created for the MCU.

I am hoping it is like Surtur's pet, and maybe Thor even goes up against it thinking it is Surtur himself. When he defeats it he thinks that was no big deal I was expecting more and then Surtur comes out of the Lava and he is like oh crap.

IMAX new poster! Now we are talking. F'ing awesome poster. :yay:
New look at the badass Skurge too.
“Fans that go see Thor: Ragnarok in IMAX will get to experience more of the galactic adventures because select scenes will feature special IMAX formatting,” IMAX said in an official statement. “Only in IMAX will these scenes be presented in an expanded 1.9:1 aspect ratio, which means fans will get to see 26% more of the image than standard theatres for a must-see IMAX event.”

Some very interesting new information in the Total Film issue for Thor Ragnarok.

- The battle between Thor, Hulk, Valkyrie, Loki and Hela, Fenris, Hela's minions... described as the "most exciting part of the film" took 10 days to shoot and involved 300 extras.
- Producer Brad Winderbaum: "We've got a giant, epic, Ragnarok-scaled finale that is one of the biggest climatic set-pieces we've done at the studio."
- A scene description.
Loki stumbles backwards into frame, the puny god bumps into the Hulk. Startled, he quickly backs away before taking his place in formation. The Hulk, meanwhile, grunts, rolls his shoulders and pauses for a beat… before landing a perfectly timed sucker punch, Hiddleston yanked sideways onto a crash mat some five feet away. The delightful grace note: a Thor/Hulk fist bump. :woot:

- “Heimdall has basically become an enemy of the state, and Skurge has inherited Heimdall’s job.”

We should be getting the 3rd and final trailer around this time next week. Can't wait to see more footage.

May I ask, what makes you say this? We haven't gotten any indication whatsoever that we are getting a new trailer.

Is the running time confirmed?
Yes. 2 hours and 10 minutes.

He's following Doctor Strange's marketing from last year, which is what Ragnarok seems to be doing.
This. Doctor Strange released their 3rd and final trailer on September 27th if i am not mistaken so it would make sense for Thor Ragnarok to do the same since it has already followed the same trajectory with the Teaser and Official Trailer, both coming out at pretty much the same time... give or take 2 days.

The finale sounds insane!

Thanks for posting that, HD. So Odeon definitely released the tickets too early by mistake, I thought as such. Hopefully it indicates that it won't be too much longer before UK tickets go on sale properly, and across all the cinema chains.

That Total Film scoop is great, the big final battle sounds absolutely insane and epic. I'm so freaking excited. :woot: I'll try and pick up that issue of Total Film when it comes out and see if there's any more interesting scoops in it to post.

Some more "new" details from that issue.

- A stripped Quinjet is in the marketplace on Sakaar.
- The Grandmaster is so powerful that he doesn't need to prove it. Jeff Goldblum words.
- The Hulk even has a hot tub in his apartment on Sakaar.
- The trip to Sakaar was so traumatic to Banner that "his body defaulted to the Hulk position". He is scared to turn back to Banner.
