Am I the only one that thinks Ruffalo looks terrible as Banner in this pic? He looks like he's put on weight, and whats up with the Drew Carey glasses? I know I shouldn't judge based on one picture... but, man, what an awful picture.

Disclaimer: I've loved Ruffalo as Banner so far in the MCU, but I'm not feeling this look. He looks like they pulled him off the set of a Harry Caray movie.

I must admit it took me a while to recognize that was Ruffalo in this pic, at first I thought it was the director Taika Waititi on the set. :funny:

None of these are official film pics and just behind the scenes pics from EW right?

That's exactly what I thought as well. I was wondering where Ruffalo was in the pics until I saw that wasn't a BTS pic.

Maybe he looks like that for comedic purposes or something, I honestly didn't recognize him until others mentioned it.

PS: Are they in a toy store or something?

They're behind the scenes pics but they appear to mostly be of stuff being filmed. As mentioned prior Ruffalo has been photographed wearing that outfit in other set photos, so it's not just like Mark showing up to work in his duds before changing into a costume.

Yeah more or less behind the scenes photos. Hela's headdress would poke people's eyes out lol

Ok good because some of those Planet Nickelodeon colors are killing me. I hope the cinematography used really tones these colors down.

Looks like the junk yard that's on the planet. There was a video Taika did in the junk yard.

This looks terrible, the franchise went from grounded but grandiose to gaudy and cheap.

Looks like they're going for the Colors Simonson used in His run on Thor. There was also a Tee shirt the Ragnarok staff had that had of Kirby/Simonson style space junk on it with similar color

Wait, the Thor franchise was "grounded"? The one with the space vikings and magic hammers?

I think "grounded" means "Not outlandish" in that quote.

Some more plot details from EW:
http://ew.com/movies/2017/03/09/tho.../?xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_twitter

When we last saw Thor, he was flying off to figure out who was manipulating the Avengers at the end of Age of Ultron. Eventually, he hears rumblings of trouble in Asgard: His evil brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), has been impersonating their missing father, Odin (Anthony Hopkins). Loki’s rather lax governing leads to the reemergence of an imprisoned Hela (Cate Blanchett). Thor’s initial encounter with Hela gets him blasted to Sakaar, a barbaric planet ruled by the charming but nefarious Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), a tough, hard-drinking warrior hiding out on Sakaar brings the god to the Grandmaster. “Thor is a bit of a fanboy for the Valkyrie, the elite women warriors,” Hemsworth says. Thor is then forced into becoming a gladiator, which leads to his haircut and the loss of his trusty hammer.

Once Thor and Hulk unite, Ragnarok becomes a sort of road-trip film, with director Taika Waititi drawing inspiration from movies like 48 HRS., Withnail and I, and even Planes, Trains and Automobiles. The director particularly wanted to show off Hemsworth’s comedic abilities, only recently exploited in films like Vacation and Ghostbusters. “He’s so good and underutilized in that department,” Waititi says. “He’s legitimately one of the funniest things in this film.”

Fans will also see some familiar faces, like Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange. The New York-based sorcerer met with Thor in the post-credits epilogue of Doctor Strange, and he will help the Asgardian locate Odin. Teases Feige, “There’s not a whole lot that takes place on Earth in this film, and that’s one of the things that does.”

The events of Ragnarok will also help set up Marvel’s biggest Phase 3 installment, Avengers: Infinity War, the first half of which is due in May 2018. But Waititi is adamant that his film will not only stand on its own, it will reinvent the franchise. “A lot of what we’re doing with the film is, in a way, kind of dismantling and destroying the old idea and rebuilding it in a new way that’s fresh,” he says. “Everyone’s got a slightly new take on their characters, so in that way, it feels like [this is] the first Thor.” Just with a little less hair.

And of the Hulk:

Sakaar’s most popular and successful gladiator? Bruce Banner, a.k.a. the Hulk. Comics fans will recognize this plotline as part of the popular Planet Hulk series. “He’s much more of a character than the green rage machine you’ve seen in the Avengers movies,” Ruffalo says of this new Hulk. “He’s got a swagger. He’s like a god.”

Some say grounded others say boring.
But opinions...
Well Thor and Valkyrie's outfits are similar, I still think it's their "team" uniform for the battle arena

I think "grounded" means "Not outlandish" in that quote.
I can see alot of Sakaar matching Grandmaster. I mean both he and Collector are Elders of the Universe and brothers. I'm sure all the rest of where Thor goes looks more like what we HAVE already seen in Thor movies

I have a feeling the Sakaar stuff will be outlandish, but the stuff dealing with Asgard will be less so. Remember we haven't seen any of Asgard yet, and the film deals with the Asgardian apocalypse, so I feel like this look isn't representative of all that we will be getting in the final movie, regardless of how you feel about it.

Like the how everyone looks except Goldblum. (Blanchett is unrecognizable.)

They have made him look too much colorful ? He looks like a character from Dr. Strange movie.

I'm not arguing your opinion what you like and dislike, but is there really such a thing as too colorful for a highly eccentric space immortal that's running strange gladiator games with all sorts of powerful beings?
