Ragnarok wins handily for me. I'll go through the list in the OP for fun.

Best Hero - Thor. Hemsworth shows more range and really embodies the role at this point. Thor also goes through more on his journey.
Best Villain - Hela is much better than Orm, mainly due to that Blanchett is amazing.
Best Action - Ragnarok has more memorable action to me, well tied to character work, and with Thor vs Hulk being the best high superpower duel yet. Aquaman does have scale on Ragnarok in the final battle though and really good action overall.
Best Comedy - Waititi is a lot funnier and more unique than Wan in this regard.
Best Visuals - Both are very fantastical and imaginative, so it could be a tie. The strong Kirby influences is my favorite thing in the two films though.
Best Score - Ragnarok has one of the most memorable superhero scores as Mothersbaugh did something unique with the strong 80s influences mixed with a more traditional score. The use of The Immigrant Song is also a big standout.
Best Scene - Hard to pick a favorite out of both films, but probably the battle of the Rainbow Bridge, culminating with Surtur.
Best Supporting Cast/Characters - It's very tough to compete with the trio of Loki, Hulk and Valkyrie alone. Then there's The Grandmaster, Korg, etc.

This became pretty one-sided but I do like Aquaman as well. I just don't place it in the highest tier of superhero movies like I do with Ragnarok.

Best Hero - Thor. Chris has had so much time to hone in and refine the Thor character that he's really made it his own, while with Aquaman I think Wan had to sort of shake of a little bit of the Aquabro from Justice League.
Best Villain - Aquaman. Now don't get me wrong Hela would win in a fight but Orm is what all great villains are, the hero of his own story. Even though I don't really sympathise with either one of them Orm felt more completing plus a cooler outfit lol.
Best Action - Aquaman. This was the hardest one to decide on both have a great range of action scenes. Personal preference just edged it for Aquaman. I loved the chase through Sicily, the sub battle, the trench scene and the war at the end.
Best Comedy - Thor. I would say has probably the best comedy of the entire MCU so it takes this one.
Best Visuals - Aquaman. Some of the absolute best in not just superhero movies but movies in general I put Aquaman's visuals on a level near Avatar as something that just needs to be seen on the big screen.
Best Score - Thor. Can't really remember Aquaman's score to be honest but I can vaguely remember Thor's neither blew me away but im probably not the best person to judge scores. Can't think of any that stand out bar Zimmer's for Batman.
Best Scene - Aquaman. Rising out of the depths of the sea riding the Kraken taking over all sea life it was just awesome to see.
Best Supporting Cast/Characters - Thor. We have had two Avenger's movies and two Thor movies so we didn't need quite as much world building for Thor by Raganrok. Because of that the likes of Hulk, Loki and Korg stand out.

Best Hero - Thor, he gets an advantage for having been established in the other films, so not quite a fair fight on this one.
Best Villain - Thor, sorry but Oceanmaster was about the most generic vanilla villain in any of these movies. I loved Black Manta, would have been a better movie with him as the primary antagonist.
Best Action - Aquaman, some great action sequences in this, by far the best of any DCEU movie including Wonder Woman
Best Comedy - Thor, I dont' think this needs any explanation. Aquaman was a refresher in this department over most bland dull DCEU films.
Best Visuals - Tie, As much as I'd crown Aquaman here, finally somone got the mind of Jack Kirby on film and that's no small feat, but Aquaman takes a hit for poor bland CGI and the worst aging effects I've seen since X3 which was 13 years ago. so Thor evens the score
Best Score - Tie, I think the Aquaman theme is better, the best score Thor was in the first Thor film, but Ragnarok easily makes up for that with Led Zeppelin.
Best Scene - Thor, the Hulk fight is something fans have been waiting for after a somewhat underwhelming fight in Avengers 1, and was totally delivered in Ragnarok.
Best Supporting Cast/Characters - Thor, other than Jason Momoa and Willam Dafoe, Aquaman cast is pretty bland.

Rag is the better complete film, but I think Aquaman did more for the DCEU than Rag did for the MCU.

Best Hero - This is tougher than I thought it would be. I have more investment in Thor as a character, but Arthur had at least one moment of honest reflection that really stood out to me. Thor was a goofball for pretty much the entirety of Ragnarok. I know he had his serious moments, but they didn’t carry much weight (for me). And that’s not to say that Arthur was in any way the opposite of that, but I think Wan knew when and how to make those moments last. So Aquaman.

Best Villain - AM. I like Hela a lot, but let’s be real: she’s an afterthought. Ragnarok should’ve just been about Sakaar. Ocean Master wasn’t quite as engaging, but he added more to the story of AM than Hela did for TR.

Best Action - Tie.

Best Comedy -
Ragnarok.

Best Visuals -
AM.

Best Score -
AM.

Best Scene -
Ragnarok.

Best Supporting Cast/Characters -
Ragnarok.

Despite AM winning more of these categories, I think TR is the better film overall.

Aquaman's Action and Visuals were (imo) blatant ripoffs of things that were in Ragnarok and other comic films, just with bubbles laid over top

I'll take lightning powers over water powers any day of the week

I dunno if I agree with that. Even if that’s true, I really like the way Wan filmed most of it.

I seriously love both of these films.

Ragnarok is an exemplary example of a satirical comedy masked in a superhero flick. Waitit is an expert in comedic timing, edit, making improvisation work within his framework. The quick pacing, cuts, small-talk dialogue, while a detriment to most films, fits to a tee with his style of direction.

Aquaman shares many similarities. My opinion is Wan doesn't quite have the same grasp on tone as I felt it was a bit unbalanced in certain parts. It is a film that does throw everything but the kitchen sink at you but doesn't quite excel at anything. The same quick pacing etc, used here imo actually hurt this movie as I felt there were too many plot threads/elements introduced in the movie and thus felt a bit rushed. Entertaining moments and grand visuals were to be had in the film for sure, just not in Ragnarok's class as a film.

Ragnarok is much better. Waititi created something more unique with his style and he also had better actors to work with.

This. Aquaman is good fun, but Ragnarok is in a higher class. IMO Ocean Master doesn't even approach the slinky evil of Hela - a contender for the MCU's best villain.

The CGI in Aquaman was good - but Ragnarok has a far more epic feel about it and it's visuals are simply stunning. Plus a much stronger supporting cast.
Don't see these films as being all that close really.

I really enjoyed Aquaman until they hit the desert. Before that, they had a nice balance of drama and humor. I was impressed that they hooked me in with Black Manta’s origin. Jason’s performance wasn’t as bro-ish as I imagine. Orm came off as a nuanced villain who had motivation that wasn’t just “be evil”.

Then they hit the desert. The Pitbull song hit. They humor was more forced to get the leads to fall in love. They brought back Black Manta and dropped him off a cliff not long after. And the finale was just confusing and hard to see which side was which. So while I still enjoyed it, Ragnarok takes the win.

I will say I do think it’s an unfair comparison though. This was the first full movie with Aquaman whereas we’ve had several movies to connect with Thor.
