My bro saw PotC, he loved it, I want to see it from what he's said about it.
He WILL be in here sooner or later to make his review of Thor, when he and his fiancee go out again. lol

Ugh! It only made $2,200,897 on Thursday which means it just missed $130M for it's two week domestic total by $93,485. I mean, under $100K? C'mon!

Ultimately it's not really important in the long run but I hope the weekend tosses on an extra $100K just to make it up.

It's at about 367M worldwide. It might be at 400M by the end of the weekend, will be close.

A good hold for the week, only off 48%. If it can maintain unter 50% drop for the weekend, it's smooth sailing.

I'm kind of expecting it to stop short of 400 million this weekend. It'll hit it monday or tuesday.

saw pirates today. to be honest, i loved it and hope it succeeds. Thor had his time in the sun already and did great

Well I guess that initial report of POTC4 having seriously bad midnights wasn't as true as I hoped. Did $4.7M on midnights. Hopefully it falls short of $100M OW still.

I hear POTC4 Has already made 44.2 million worldwide.
Not a bad start.

This month, Disney is really looking both at its aging franchise (Pirates) and upcoming one (Thor).

The reviews for Pirates 4 are lackluster, which disappoints me cause I enjoyed 1 and 2, but HATED the 3rd ( and I do mean HATED). I plan to see it, but maybe not in quite the rush I was for it.

That said, I was more than happy to pay to see Thor again today

Happened with last 2 Pirates films, also. DMC had a 54% and AWE something like a 40%. But, they made killings at BO and fans seemed to like them more (I liked DMC myself...just not AWE).

But still the POTC movies have been on a steady box office decline since DMC.

OST will make even less than AWE.

Hefty drop for Thor if that estimate holds, but it was expected.

We might be looking at Thor hitting 150 million as late as Wednesday.

Its at $130 mill. We are talking about millions here, $100k is nothing. Frustrating but hardly disasterous. Its still on course for $150 by Tuesday or Wednesday going by weekend estimates.

Another indicator is the percentage of gross made in the opening weekend. TIH and TM2 got 41% in their first weekends, IM got 31% of gross in its first weekend. Going by these numbers Thor is looking for a final tally of between $160,300,824 and $212,010,763 depending on its legs. The bad reviews of Pirates could help that but they could also do with another TV trailer aimed at kids, perhaps focusing on the rivalry between Thor and Loki.

Johnny Depp is still a big draw so its not all surprising. People love Captain Jack.

Good weekday performance by Thor really. It's chugging along fine.

Captain Jack will be a big draw if they keep writing good stories for him. lol I mean Depp loves that character.

What I don't understand is why they released the movie knowing that Pirates was only two weeks ahead!
I thought Superman Returns has taught everyone a lesson.
15 million is kinda ******. I hope it hits 170mil domestically (at least)!!

When else were they going to release it? Besides a 2 week lead is better than alot of other summer movies are getting
