The Amazing Spider-Man 2 thoughts on the ending

I've only watched two minutes of it so far but I'm glad that you decided to do one comparison with the comics and one without, props to you for that.

Can I ask why all these people approached you though? Also, her death actually WAS ambiguous as Goblin did the whole "romantic fool, she was dead before you catched her" thing. It was only clarified later on what happened. I think it would have gone down pretty badly if the death was quick and spidey was gloating about how great he was as he pulled her up, it would have been pretty odd.

"The death for Peter in the movie is just a death, not a lesson for Peter to learn going forward". There's the whole mortality thing, and the not giving up hope thing, and the "Didn't listen to a dead man's wish and got her killed"

I'm not really getting what you were trying to say to be honest mate, but hey, if it didn't work for you that's fine

So it was you posting your videos

I disagree with everything in that. The fact that you think she died from whiplash and you're telling other people to get a grip is ridiculous. You showed the bootleg video of her hitting the ground while your voice over says it was whiplash. Seems like you're extremely in denial that we didn't get the panel for panel imitation of the comic version.

Personally I loved how they handled her death, I'd genuinely say now that I prefer it to the comic version. I really couldn't disagree more with what you're saying and the way you come across in your videos make you seem overly keen to hate this movie.

And I'm assuming you are/ want to be a partner. Is it really a good idea to use illegally obtained footage in your videos?

This guy, Trilbee or how he's called has extreme hate for this franchise, he has such silly arguments and does everything just to thrash TASM so yeah, don't find his stuff so relevant. He made some good points in the review for the movie, but then he should give all the movies that he watched bad scores and hate on them because he's complaining on every little god damn mistake. It's ok to hate, but this dude is unrealistic, unprofessional and he's not objective.

Go watch SevenWebHeads and Venom 2 Million. Peace.

He does bring up a lot of good points...

I liked the the one when he said that this movie is just a trailer for another movie which will again probably be trailer for another etc. He made that crystal clear. It woulda been better if we got tv-series or something if Sony wanted that type of approach.

But c'mon, giving the movie zero out five stars? Yeah, right. If this wasn't TASM2 he would have given way more... Also when he said that movie crew doesn't care about the film (lol), that the CGI is poor, chemistry between main leads... WTF? Then, that time when he made that video about the trailer... It just shows us that he is biased towards the film, and why his review is irrelevant.

Excellent video. Concise, thorough, and all of his points are well back up.

having watched all TASM franchise related videos from trilbee, it's pretty clear that this guy is extremely biased just seems like a generally cynical guy. I know it's stupid to get heated up from a review supporting different opinions than your own since in the end it's always just your opinion that should matter to yourself, but I'm only human and I can admit that his videos make me roll my eyes

I on the other hand loved the ending, the middle of the movie had the biggest share of the problems, but the last scenes tied it pretty neatly. I have a couple of nitpicks about
Gwen's death. the scene was beautiful and yeah it made me choke up a little, but 2 things bothered me:
1. the tower looked kinda fake. the actual context made me able to immerse myself into it enough to enjoy it, but c'mon, we're talking about Gwen's Death, one would think they'd know to invest on that scene more, I really don't believe that this was the best CG they could've done for the surroundings
2. Gwen hitting her head on the ground. the tower was clearly long enough that there was some wiggle room for Gwen getting her neck snapped before hitting the ground. I'm not saying that it has to play exactly like the original comicbook, but I would've loved to see Spidey pulling Gwen up bragging about his victory before realizing that she's dead

all in all, despite what I just said, I think it did end up pretty damn good. Giving credit where it's due, I really loved how
the web that Spidey tried to catch Gwen with formed into a hand, I really have no idea why but that image just was so powerful, like tear shedding level. I had not read spoilers before hand and I did not know if she was actually gonna die, but seeing the web forming into a hand, I knew that this was the end of Gwen, I wanted it not to be because of my built up emotional investment to her, but with Webb in the director's seat, it was bound to happen

That was very amusing in the nerdiest way possible. I think complaining about slow motion is a nitpick and I see no problem with Gwen be conscious or reaching for Peter.

His stronger point is about consequence and the broader point of context. In the comics, Peter Parker goes into a rage over Gwen Stacy's death that ends in the death of Norman Osborn. In-between he abandons his drugged out friend and his alter-ego is blamed for Gwen's murder. Just as importantly, the murder was a pre-mediated attack on him by Norman Osborn that came after years of fighting. It is why their rivalry is so nasty and memorable, second only to Batman and Joker in comicdom, IMO.

It feels random in the movie. And not in a poignant way. So with that, I agree. Albeit, some of the points were pretty funny picking at it.
