Three Muslims students gunned down in North carolina

Apparently American Sniper had idiots getting really anti Muslim. Idiots.

Well some moron walked out of the theater after seeing Pearl Harbor and beat up some Asian American guy he assumed was Japanese.

I wouldn't call it propaganda but white people are very suspicious of Muslims post-9/11.
It isn't just white people. Other races and ethnicities can and do get in on the act.

There's actually propaganda against Muslim in the US right now?
Yes. Very much so. Watch 20 mins of Fox News. Watch some of these Tea Party speeches. They blatantly lie all the time, trying to make it sound like every Muslim walks around with an AK and bomb strapped to their chest.

Maybe he was just angry because he had just wasted $10.

Yeah, they are definitely gonna increase the athiest bashing after this one.

Well, they have a rep for being kinda smug, but that was the extent of it. This won't help.

It will be ironic that the most vociferously anti-atheist voices will be the same who spread more hate about Muslims than atheists could ever do.

All for a parking spot!?! Nuts like him shouldn't be allowed to drive.. or have guns with them!

Condolences to the family and to the victims. My prayers and thoughts are with them. :csad::hrt:

To be fair I think it's high time all the talk of "atheist's do XYZ" or "atheists are XYZ" needs to stop. There seems to be a common discourse of superiority that underlies a lot of references to atheists, like being an atheist imbues someone with some intrinsic intellectual or moral benefit. It's fallacious when people believe or say "X group is Y" and turn them into some homogenous entity. There are as many atheists that dogmatically regurgitate whatever they've heard as their are theists. This isn't aimed at your comment particularly but I've just noticed the trend that people refer to atheists like they all share the same traits, as opposed to at least entertaining the notion that there are atheist zealots out there too and that unreasonableness isn't solely the domain of the religious.

Truth be told, atheists and religious people aren't that far off from each other in the grand scheme. They both act pretty similar from a behavior standpoint regarding being preachy. Each one is more than likely to roll their eyes at the other.

I think this had less to do with the guy being an atheist and more to do with the parking spot. People have killed and have been killed over much less.

This is the key point that people will realize once the atheist fad dies down a bit. I lump vocal atheists along with vocal theists because they share the common ground of vehemently and unreasonably needing to defend or discuss their beliefs.

I find it ridicules that he didn't believe their to be any other spots for him to park his stupid car...
Crazy people would just retaliate by scratching the other car with a key.. or maybe hitting the car with eggs...
But this guy is BEYOND Crazy. He is a monster who thought killing three innoceant people execution style ( all three in the head) was the thing to do?!? So jail time for the rest of your life is better than parking your stupid car somewhere else?! He had no compassion. He is lost and will be lost for the rest of his life.

Blanket statement.

Been saying this for years.
It's actually really funny how the majority of both groups don't get it.

To be fair it's largely accurate. There are critical thinkers on all sides, but if you aggregate the ramblings of either side how they approach things is almost identical, just with different beliefs. A lot of people have adopted atheism because it's suddenly accepted and "cool", but they don't seem to ask why or even critically engage with what atheism actually is.

It's like atheism: fine, and casual atheism: mock religion as much as possible, because we're like, enlightened and stuff.

May not have much to do with atheism, but I will need some serious convincing that the race/ethnicity of the victims did not play a huge role in why they were massacred like this. To go from a parking space problem to premeditated mass murder with a gun has to involve a decision at some point that "those people over there" are suddenly disposable.
