Mother, son, and the grandparents should've been dead at the end. Everything in Boston should've looked like a wasteland, but oh well, can't always have it the way we want it.

I've always wanted to start up a movie studio where the one rule of the movies under my roof was "anything goes. Happy endings are NOT promised"

No matter what movie/show/book I watch/read, one thing I always wished I didn't know was that, no matter how bad things got, the hero was going to walk away in the end.

I think knowing that the movie might end with the bad guy winning and the hero failing would do wonders for making the suspense better. Right now, all stories are "oh no. I wonder how he/she's gonna get out of this mess?". I want it to be "oh no. I wonder if he/she's gonna be able to get out of this mess or not?"

That's what I want to see in films.

I have to think about this, I really honestly can't think of any.

Armageddon. I'd rather see a huge chunk actually landed on Earth and how people actually cope with it.

In that respect, Deep Impact was the better movie.

Good ALWAYS triumph over evil.

Since the writing of the Bible, it has been a bylaw of entertaining stories: the good guys MUST win at the end, no matter what.

The ONLY one that doesn't follow that rule is Terry Gillian, who is completely allergic to happy endings.
