About BATMAN BEGINS: TB: The Christopher Nolan movie I thought was actually really good. He really captured the ‘real’ spirit that these kind of movies are supposed to have nowadays. When I did BATMAN 20 years ago, in 1988 or something, it was a different time in comic book movies. You couldn't go into that ‘dark side’ of comics yet. The last couple of years that has become acceptable and Nolan certainly got more to the root of what the Batman comics are about.”

If any evidence is needed of how pointless the whole thing with Burtonites and Nolanites biting each others´heads off is, there it is. Nolan also said a couple times he likes Burton´s first Batman movies. Yes, it´s just fine to prefer one or another, but don´t think you´re standing for your favorite director´s POV when you viciously attack everything one did in favor of the other.

Cool to hear:up:

The Burtonite/Nolanite bashing stuff has always been ridiculous and unnecessary.

Thats great. I;m glad tim burton admits that begins is more faithful. His is the theatrical 1930's batman. Nolan's is the contemporary modern Batman. Both are great. people should stop the *****ing and enjoy all the films!

This is great to hear. I think all the Batman movies are really good in their own way(yes Batman and robin too) and all have different aspects of the comics in them.

It really is. I mean just say it out loud. "Nolanite." "Burtonite." :whatever::whatever::whatever:

It's laughable, absurd and juvenile. Anyway, this is very good to hear. :word:

Its really good to hear that, my respect for Mr Burton has gone even higher.

Hopefully it does something to stop this dumbass troll war.

Burton has always said this about Begins. He has also mentioned that he wishes he had the chance to do what WB allowed Nolan to do. Nolan has never critisized Burtons movies. He's admitted he likes 89. The Nolan/Burton war was started by the internet fans. No one else.

I love Burton's two Batman movies so this is great to hear from him.

Sadly, it won't stop it anytime. But I wish it does end though. While I like Begins more, I still enjoy B89 from time to time. Guess growing with it help. ;)

89 Batman is a great movie .... 05 Batman Begins ... is also a great movie.. nuff said .. you can like them both for different reasons but they both still are awesome flicks

Well said  :batty:

Mr. Burton, if the industry and people are accepting the dark side of the superheroes today is because you took the big risk and gave the first step 20 years ago.

Nice, I don't understand why some people can't like both films (or dislike). Getting so attached to a certain director is pretty stupid.

well, they can like one director more than the other(i like burtons movies a whole lot more that nolans movies) but i still LOVE both directors takes on the character

 it makes me happy to see everyone coming together. *tear*

^^Thats what I meant. Heck it doens't matter if one likes B'89 more than BB or vice versa, but some of these guys act like if X director isn't doing the movie, then it automatically sucks. Some people seem to be more of a fan of the director rather then the character represented.

i sometimes think this is how people think of Joel shumacher. Just cuz he made a movie most people disliked, all his movies are crap now....

That's what made me go from years of lurking to SHH member. By summer 2005 it got too ridiculous to the point that I felt compelled to join to help show people how pointless that mentality is. Of course it continued going on but it has died down considerably since then thanks to a lot of other like minded posters and hey better late than never.

Kudos to Burton  :batty:

I agree

I think Burton's underestimating how dark his films were in comparison to Nolan's, but you guys've got it. There ain't a single good reason for there to be fighting. It's stupid and I'm sick of it.
