Two actually. One is called Avatar, not some stupid hippie sci-fi enviornmentalist flick not be confused with the Nickelodian cartoon some of you freaks watch. And Battle Angel, an adapation of one those cartoons where school girls get assaulted by tentacles that some of you freaks watch.
You, uh, got any, better descriptions.........nvrmind I'll just look it up

You're kidding, right? Beat Spiderman? Dude, Alvin has James Cameron shaking in his boots so hard right now that he's shelved Battle Angel and turned in a treament for "Hindenburg."

It will win numerous Oscars and be considered as the greatest movie in cinema history! :woot:

Yeah, if you check my post, you'll see I edited out the "not" in "not some stupid hippie." It's much more accurate.

Nope, especially with Tom Cruise in it.

I'm really struggling to imagine him trying to pull off a german accent.

And regarding my earlier question, it was the rumor that Germany wouldn't let him film because he is a leader in the battle to defeat the Dark Lord Xenu - this proved to be false.

Nevertheless.

HAIL THE DARK LORD XENU!!!!

I can't help it. This will remain one of the funniest things ever, even if you're not a Parker & Stone Kool-Aid drinker like me.

Their response letter to Variety after Cruise had the Scientology episode pulled from UK TV's:
Scientology, you may have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for Earth has just begun! Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail! Hail Xenu!!!

-- Trey Parker and Matt Stone, servants of the dark lord Xenu

none of the actors even bother with a german accent, I've seen the trailer, and half the germans are played by brits. it would have been interesting if they had made this film like Downfall, all german cast, with subs

Ugh. That's one of the reasons I was annoyed with Enemy at the Gates. It was about Germans and Russians but everybody was British.

Explain to me how guys pulled that rule off anway? That anytime a movie takes place in a non-english speaking setting, then just let them be British. And doesn't that steal the illusion a bit for you since you don't hear British as an accent?

a little, but I'm fascinated by the story, had to write this badass essay about it for History once.

enemy at the gates totally confused me, yes, Khruschev was a short fat cockney!

Cool, history buff, eh?

Um, back to the accent think. I was being somewhat of a smart ass. Bu seriously, when a British accent is used in the context we're talking about isn't it actually refered to as Classic or Theater or something like that?

That's the one thing I didn't understand about The Brothers Grimm when I saw that. I thought Ledger did a good job btw, but they had English accents, and not German?? Kinda weird.

it a movie rule, as long as your accent is not american you can be from anywhere in europe. Hannibal Lector was from Russia wasnt he? why is he psuedo-english then?
