They weren't really that bad, well, the one in your sig isn't. I didn't really understand the Rambo one. You definitely need a better camera, especially if you're going to shoot at night, I couldn't see a lot of the details on the Michael Myers one, especially when he swings, took me a second to realize what he was doing.. You could also benefit from some tighter editing, some of your shots drag a little bit. And a tripod.

I got a badass camera today, and found my tripod in the attic too.

And the one in my sig was completely improvised, which explains the long shots.

And one last piece of advice, I know you didn't ask, and I'm not trying to sound like a jerk or anything, but I noticed during the Rambo one you faded a lot. Bad idea, especially in a scene like this. A fade is really only good when you're changing scenes, or trying to indicate the passage of time. I assumed that time was passing in between shots especially because your actor was wearing the same clothes. It took me a second to realize that you were swapping between characters.

That was my very first movie, and I used a REALLY ****ty editing program that came with my VERY ****ty video camera, and all it would do is fade. I couldn't change it or anything. The video sucked, I know.

As a non-drinker, a part of me finds that hilarious... but on the other hand it sounds to me like a money-making scheme. Spare the alcohol and charge a high dollar amount, get people to buy more drinks to get their drunk on, thus making more money still - while expending very little money to make these drinks.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what it is. They think they're being sneaky.

I see. Improvising can be pretty good, but I've just recently learned how important it is to plan pretty meticulously. I'm working on a fifteen to twenty minute film right now, and I'm planning everything out like crazy. Just sayin'...

Seriously? You should have just used Windows Movie Maker, even that allows for a variety of transitions.

Watching now (I'm going to watch yours too in a second, Geoff). I'm in just about all my videos with people, save one I shot with my friends after school (improvised, not great). I have to operate the camera and "act." It gets troublesome when there's more than one person. I will be getting some actors for the project I'm working on now, but I'm going to operate the puppet.
