The Dark Knight Rises Time span between this film and TDK

Should this film start exactly a few minutes after TDK's ending? Or a couple of months, years, decade perhaps?

Six months...I'm pretty sure...

I hope it's years down the road. I want to see a beaten and battered Batman trying to redeem himself.

Same as the difference between BB and TDK. First three films - first three years.

BB and TDK werent a year apart, they were only months apart(from wat ive heard). Thats why the Manor isnt built yet.

Yeah, but you're forgetting to add the time frames of the movies themselves. Begins was several months long, then I think it was 6 months between the two, followed by TDK which seemed like another several months. I'd buy it that at the end of TDK Batman had been around about a year and half. Give it another 6 months before Batman 3, then have that one take place over a year or so, and there you go. 3 movies, 3 years.

oh, i thought they were referring to the time span in the movie itself.

batman begins and TDK were only 6 months apart. any one that thinks other wise sorry. you'll see it all in the dvd explanation with the cast telling this. for me I saw it cause they did a behind the scenes thing up where i'm at and aired it on tv called the dark knight unhmasked behind the scenes of the dark knight.

Six months or so, same as BB to TDK. I can't fathom why anyone would want ten years in between movies.

Because some people like The Dark Knight Returns WAY too much.

I guess put me in that group then, because if the next film isn't fresh and different and huge, then it will be disappointment. I'm not saying direct TDKR or anything like that, but I would like to see years between TDK and the next film, I mean why not?

-I want to see Bale do what he does best, transform for his roles. I want to see an older, grizzled, scorned Batman, maybe not 50+ years old, but a lot older.

-I'd like to see the gray haired Gordon from the comics, torn between his civic duties and his alliance with the Batman

-I'd like to see another actor recasted as the Joker because I know what everyone else on here knows but is afraid to admit, no other villain will come close to topping or even matching what the Joker did in TDK besides the Joker himself. Putting some years in between films allows another actor to do it, with a different take, while still being true to what Nolan established (Daniel Day Lewis anyone?)

Simply put, I want to see the best ending to this trilogy possible. Something epic, something new and fresh, while still retaining the best elements of what made this series the classic that it is. Bale brooding around as the older, grittier Batman, waging a final stand against the cops the crooks and the clown is on that scale. The fact that it borrows some themes from Frank Miller's is besides the point, every single good Batman movie has already, including each BB & TDK...
