Have there been many games that have revolved around or given the player the ability to time travel.

This could be such a fun game device.

Guessing you never played Time Splitters? The more recent Sly Cooper 4: Thieves in Time revolved around time travel. Sonic CD, Chrono Trigger, Spiderman Edge of Time, TMNT - Turltes in Time, are other examples

Hah oh yeh i have! i don't remember how it worked though as we mostly played it multiplayer and that was quite a while ago that i played it.

It's actually something I am surprised we haven't seen more of.

Zelda in particular comes to mind. Time travel plays a major role in both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Ironically the latter more so than the former (but then it had all sorts of craziness going on).

There have been some racing games that incorporate a rewind ability if you crash which i remember sort of feeling like time travel. I want what portal did for portals done for time travel :-P

Stop whatever you're doing and play Chrono Trigger.

Haven't played Timeshift yet but that's one of the main features of the game. Bioshock Infinite sort of has it but you don't really do any [BLACKOUT]until you get to the end and realize how much of it Booker already did.[/BLACKOUT]

I thought it would be a really neat feature for a Terminator game. Perhaps if you had one map or something (open world?), then just slap a different skin over it for the different eras.

It's a shame that there probably will never be a great Terminator game. So much potential there.

The only time a Terminator game gets made is if they need a movie tie in.

It would be fun if there was a time travel game where you could go back in time to where you were previously in the game and see your self playing which could allow you to cause paradoxes.

What about blitz the time sweeper? That had time travel it was just frustratingly hard to pull off

I think Quantum Break is gonna use some form of time travel or time alteration.
